So, I'm playing on a SMP server with a couple of friends of mine (it's private, but I'm an admin, so I can put anyone that wants to join on the whitelist) and I had this modest little house that was a cave when I first got it, and I decided to make a farm absurdly high off the ground. One of my friends saw this as a challenge (because the farm, coincidentally, was higher than the megahouse he was working on to have the highest house on the server) and started building a massive, skyscraper sized castle thing. I decided to challenge him back when he finished and started work on making my house gigantic, and it's current highest floor is at cloud level. I decided that ladders were boring and decided to use a waterfall system instead. It's slow, but gets the job done.

I would post pics, but right now it's so massive that I'd wind up making a massive post and it would require so much work and bluh, simply because outside the house, there's so many other things I've built that essentially make them part of the house such as a pool with some lights built into the bottom.

we were in a multiplayer server and wed just mined a buttload of obsidian, so we were like "LETS GO TO HELL"
so we gear up, make diamond swords, pickaxes, provisions well need like torches and steaks and such
then we build the gateway and set the middle on fire and.......nothing D:
turns out they dont enable Hell in multiplayer as it doesnt work proper

Yeah you have to get the host to put you in there, then hope you don't spawn in lava like I always do. After you get on land it works pretty well, just dying causes the game to crash a couple times before it works again. But as far as gathering things and having enemies, it works.

Decided to pay a visit to the Nether today, although since I am a wimp and have it on peaceful mode all the time it was very empty and very quiet. I wandered around for a bit collecting things here and there, until I eventually came across a gravel pit covered in mushrooms. I started gathering them up, and accidentally hit part of the gravel. Turns out the pit was floating incredibly high above the ground, which I found out the hard way. ;-;

My brother goaded me into going back there and getting my stuff back (the only things of value I was holding really were two diamond picks), so I retraced my steps and eventually found the area where all the gravel had fell. Luckily all my stuff was still intact, but was mere inches from huge pits of lava. Don't think I'm going to be heading back anytime soon. :B

Don't ever play on normal, less you want to piss yourself in fear.

I only play on normal if I need feathers and want to kill zombies in my mob farming dungeon. Those torches serve to keep mobs away while not on peaceful, and to let me work at night. :'D

I've seen plenty of videos of it regularly (most of them before the update that stopped Ghasts from constantly setting themselves on fire and screaming their heads off). I don't think I'd last ten seconds in there with it like that. @_@

If I'd kept it on normal I'd just die all the time because I have really bad reactions. Like one time a Creeper was heading straight towards me and I had my bow handy, but it took me a number of seconds to actually start firing at the thing. I generally just like the exploring aspect of the game and like to be able to do that without feeling paranoid. I also like to spend my time building things that serve no purpose other than to look vaguely interesting. : D

So Notch has some cool stuff planned and other things.

But! We (especially Jens) have added a bunch of new content to Minecraft that we want to get out asap, so there will be a content patch update next week with a whole pile of fun new toys, including a water mob and quite possibly paint if we can figure out how exactly it should work.
