Time for Torizo's Minecraft Peekshur Tour!

Image

Ah yes, a fine sunrise to begin such a venture. No better place to gaze upon it than the balcony. Let's go ins-

Image

Well then.

Image

This is my base, a nice and cozy little hollowed-out mountain. And that is a sheep's booty.

Image

Here's the front door. A nice little area with some steps leading to the top of the mountain for skylight and waterfall maintenance. There's also a lovely canopy that you'll be able to see better in these next few images.

Image

Ah, here we are. A lovely view of the canopy, the waterfall, and the porch.

Image

Here's the farmland, I have several reeds growing and wheat production will hopefully be soon underway.

Image

One last view of my base; I was really not expecting the waterfall to be so huge but I am very fond of it.

Next episode (?): Digging Deep for Adventure - Probably Some Actual Mining!

Then Torizo did a double post. Dark and I have gotten into a contest of sorts to see who can make a better base. I looked at my house, and figured a nice way to survey the area and make quick access to my quarry would be an interesting addition.

Image

The finished product, the large hole the sheep is about to fall into is the quarry.

Image

It's in a nice location on the other side of the mountain the base built in to.

Image

Back in the base we see... what's this? Is that a secret passage I spy?

Image

Alrighty, let's see where this goes...

Image

It brings us to the middle level of the survey station! How convenient.

Image

The lower level, with a steel door for extra protection. It has a pressure switch inside and a lever that you can activate from the outside. Don't put a pressure switch outside; it'll let monsters in and wild animals will scare the hell out of you by stepping on it all night long.

Image

Now here's the top floor! What a nice view!

I feel bad cause I think I won our contest. All linked cause screenshots are large and in charge. I'm still not done with this beast yet.

My house from the front at night, made sure the lavafall would illuminate everything well enough when walking around at night.

Secret water tunnel entrances. More like a sewer really. They both turn left and meet up in the dump pit inside (more on that later). I also made sure I had a current to pull things into the moat, you can't see them well from here but going forward puts you in them.

The moat itself. Breakwater inbetween with a gap to let water in. Animals fall in all the time, makes it easier to get material from them. Just to the right of my cursor is a hole where a strong current pulls anything nearby down into a deeeeeep hole. Good defense. Couple more next to it, one is visible next to the torch.

The other side of the moat you couldn't see is just a small pool. Sometimes catches animals, more to stop mobs from getting in really.

Closeup of the lava waterfall. Its fed through a small lava pool waaay up on the second store room where that glass is. Keeps the whole walk are well illuminated. I keep the torches from before the lava was put in just as a technicality.

the main, and one of many, entrances to the fortress itself. Glass makes it so the lava keeps the area around the door illuminated outside and inside. Putting a vault door on to replace wood one later.

View of entrance, nothing special except the lava view.

A good chunk of the house, seen from the steps at the doorway. First left goes to excavation. First right goes to lookout/second story. Second right takes you to dump pool. Straight ahead takes to the next section, which will be the living quarters. Yes, I grew a tree inside. Makes it more homely.

Ladder up and stairs to dump pool.

This is where the water entrances lead to. Just a place to dump stuff. I might make the tunnel wider and use it for boats. I did that at first and unfortunately the currents were 10 kinds of fucked up and I glitched me into a wall and killed me just as I was getting out of the tunnel. I fixed all the currents though

Hallway to the son-to-be living quarters. Right now it just loops around to the area to my upper left.

In base excavation. Found my first iron down there. It goes way the fuck down and then turns into a winding hole all the way down to the bedrock. Was trying to find lava, but had to go natural cave spelunking for that. Good source of coal down there, though.

The upper room/story itself, with daybreak peaking in. Sure glass floors are cliche, but I like it. Thats the lava pool that feeds the falls on the left. Dirt roof as an emergency cover cause it torched the tree that was on the dirt block in the middle of the floor

View from balcony outside the second room. The cliffside on the left waaay out there is where my spelunking/lava cave is. Its fucking massive. You can even see my stone tower beacon to help guide me back.

The second room on the upper floor, as seen from the balcony. Nothing much in there, just the window to look out of for now. You can see my first spelunking cave and my first waterfall over on the right.

View from window in secondary room.

View of the fortress from the outside during daybreak. Gives you that Super Mario feel. Bowser would be proud of this work

LAstly, just because, I made a big excess lava pool underneath the secondary room. Above it are walkways, so try not to fall off.

Yeah, you did. I gotta say, you've got an awesome evil villain vibe going on. I still haven't finished mine either, but that is really awesome.

You play LEGO's with the entire world, basically. Also, monsters come after you at night.

Attempting to replace torches with ground lava for light. Working very well so far, and I put in the water just for looks.

As it's free to download right now well I'm doing it by trial and error, is there a multiplayer server we can go on? If not, I'll just try and like defend myself in single player but I always pick the worst bases hahah (read: cave. I blocked the outside of it and then monsters from the inside came and killed me).

That grey screen update fucking annoying. Took me awhile to figure out why, my gpu was resetting itself even after I purged minecraft so that the gamma would suddenly kill my screen a minute in.

Thank god for safe mode.
