I'm not sure if what you referenced is actually irony or not, since irony is something unexpected.

Irony: A porn star moving to a place called Virgin.

Coincidental: A porn star moving to a place called Big Dick.

Wordsmith's first post example is more in the 'poetic justice' vein than irony though.

Not really. It vould be more ironic if he made the pun thread.

Those would probably be instances of 'poetic justice', rather than irony.


Irony would be something like if I - as 'DoNotDelete' - was actually a delete-pop flyin' maniac who didn't think twice about deleting important files, threads or comments.

I didn't say it vould be pure irony per se but it vould be closer to irony.
