it's fine to be sad about somebody close to you dying, but if you're having anxiety attacks about it I think that may be a little severe. You might want to consider seeing a therapist.

there's always somebody online on AZ you can talk to if you need to, Willow.

I agree with Loli. I think grief counseling would do you a world of good.

Eh I talk to it about my friends a lot but I don't want to bother them with it anymore. the other day I was upset again and it rustled my mom off and she said I should see a shrink, though not in a literal way just a threatening one.

Well, honestly, there's only so much a friend can do. They can listen and help you cope for the moment, but sometimes you need a trained professional to overcome it.

I started crying as soon as I read the first line.

Goddamn.

That doesn't mean I don't care about anyone but I usually find worrying not helping the situation at all.

I have the same feelings about worrying - it's not a productive emotion.

I feel concern, for sure... but if I feel that is turning into worrying I remind myself there are some things that are destined to happen no matter how much I try to fight them, or prevent them from happening.

I find the best way to kill a sense of worry is to dig deep and find that resolve within yourself, to believe that whatever happens, whatever comes around the corner - expected or unexpected - you'll deal with it, because that's all you can do.

Whatever happens, happens.

Shrinks are just people paid to listen to you.
You'd rather find a true friend, who'll listen to you for free. Which means, when you feel bad, he/she'll listen, be there.
It's easier, nicer, and you end up getting hugs too.

This story sounded less to me like he was being a hero and more like, uh, "hey there's a car zooming in front of me, I should probably move away from it".

Sorry if I'm killing the mood, but it seems to me the way he turned doesn't matter, he was just a guy trying to avoid a car crash.

Listen, and then manipulate you. Sure, it's positive manipulation, but still. Makes me uncomfortable.

I went to see a psychologist once. I absolutely hated it and it felt like the most degrading thing in my entire life.

This morning I actually nearly cried when I saw the news report about the American church who are planning to burn 1000s of beautiful Korans on September 11th.

It's so horrid. I still get a bit teary eyed just thinking about it;;

It's wonderful how people think that burning Korans will make it all better.
Hey, maybe I should burn bibles some day and make a big fuss out of it!
