Inches and feet go well with height. 5'7 just sounds better than 1.30m (or whatever it is). Otherwise, yeah, might as well use the metric system.

Being short is ok too.

And you can get pants that fit? I'm about rather tall myself (6'3), and it seems that stores expect anyone this tall to also be morbidly obese. I either have to wear a belt all the time or attempt to shrink the waist because there is apparently no appropriate waist to height ratio that wouldn't involve me being several hundred pounds.
