That is not how you fraction.

4/10 means that there is a four out of ten chance.

I know how fractions work, and to me they didn't make much sense in Foo's post.

A 4/10 chance of farting once an hour after eating beans?

That doesn't even seem close to the truth.

This is a simplified fraction of 24/60, meaning, theoretically, that if you eat beans at the beginning of the hour, you will most likely fart at a random minute for 24 minutes out of the hour.

It's kinda like saying there's a 9/10 chance that Dark will not be online when I am.


That's the same as saying there's a 90% chance he will be offline when I'm online. Seriously.

There is no 'ten what'. It's JUST 4/10. Four out of ten.
