Hey guys I'm back.
And now I'm going again. So yeah, this ain't happening.
So why am I going? Well, it comes down to four things:
1: The forumers. And I mean this in a non-offensive way. Quite frankly, I just don't feel I belong here. Aside from the fact that some of you really do not like me and are not ashamed of showing it, there's also that I... just don't share the same sense of "fun" as the general consensus here.
What'd you'd call "joining a community thing and putting Entei faces on images", I'd call "trying to force a meme and an inept attempt at humour". What'd you'd think of as "having fun with whatever life gives" I'd think of as "ignoring the bigger issues in life, that can be both fun and constructive". And what you'd see as "laughing at something serious", I'd think of as... well... laughing at something serious.
And it works the reverse way too, what I'd see as having fun ranting or pointing out what someone does wrong so they can improve, most of you would think of it as actively trying to insult something. Heck, that's even the reason I was banned in the first place!
2: The proletariats. I don't really have an issue with the regular complaints people have with proletariats (corruption, inactivity, unfairness). And, aside from the way they used to lock threads for about anything and have mass amount of stickied threads for no reason/biasness (and I don't trust that they won't go back to something like that again, especially with threads like "What are you listening to/Livestream/Ask Trennicus" stickies that shouldn't be stickied by nature), there's still that biiiig issue I've always had:
The wordfilter! I guess I might have had such a massive-huge issue with it because it was ALWAYS, and still is, interfering with my LetsPlay, but I really did not like having a word every third line be changed to "daisies" or "fart" or "*****" or whatever other words were filtered for no bloody reason other than that the proletariats do not take their jobs seriously! And the worst part is that they'd take instant offence the moment someone complained about it - remember SBKT? The guy who got
perma-ip-banned for doing just that? Yeah. It's all especially bad now that there's so many LetsPlay threads around.
3: The forum itself. Okay, scroll down to the bottom of the webpage. Notice that "Powered by phpBB © 2001, 2005"? The first year corresponds to when phpBB was first started, and the second year corresponds to the last time the forum was updated. In other words, not only is this forum INCREDIBLY out-of-date, but phpBB has been in development for
twice as long as our version has been! And considering it's Open Source, it means that it's gotten far more than just twice as much improvement, it also means Katie has next-to-no excuse for not updating!
And it
really shows! I mean, there's a huge amount of things this forum is missing:
-the function to save what threads you have and haven't seen since last updated, as opposed to marking all threads as read when you log out.
-the ability for proletariats to actually infract warnings and proper time bans, while keeping measure of previous offences, instead of this silly three-strike-permaban thing they have going now.
-quick reply and multiquote functions. Y'know, where if you want to make a post you can just type it into the bottom of the page instead of... the current way.
-and a MASSIVE slew of other features!

....just to give you an idea of how incredibly backwards the current software is, did you ever notice that this forum never had a "report post" button that every other one did? Yeah, that's not because Katie deemed it unnecessary, it's because
the software is physically incapable of doing that!
4: The forumers. Err... again. This time though, it's... harsher. To put it frankly, and this is what
really tipped me over the edge in deciding to leave, right before I got banned one guy (I can't remember who) said that I'm always thinking of myself as more important then everyone else, when it struck me:
(S)he's dead right! ...well okay, not
everyone else, but I really do think I'm above most people here! And that, as much as I don't want it to, it's really showing through my posts, and it's unfair to both of us for me to stay here.
And why am I saying it so frankly? Well it's because, as I have a reputation for, I do
not like pussyfooting around an issue just because it might offend someone's delicate delicate sensitivities, with the added bonus that if someone complains I can just point out how hypocritical they are, because there's a next to nil chance they don't have someone they look down on too.
Why do I think a lot of you are painfully... "inferior"? Well, here's just a few things I've seen in this forum:
-People starting debates but completely ignoring the opposing points. And I don't mean just not addressing the opposition, I mean outright saying that there's no reason to disagree with them whatsoever despite that there's already un-disputed points saying otherwise!
-People saying that anyone who disagrees with them is ignorant, despite not having made any points whatsoever to support their position. Heck, I've seen people get offended the moment anyone even
suggests that they might be wrong!
-People bringing up, and getting involved in, debates about religion. Over and over and over and over again. Mostly just as a means of trying to form a circle-jerk with people who agree with them. Even stopping to think for five minutes would tell you that there's absolutely no way you can debate spiritual beliefs with someone of a completely different religion!
-People who take advantage of that Christianity is composed of hundreds of different religions and attribute any belief they want to it. Think about how many times you've heard things like "Christianity condemns evolution" or "The Christian Church is against homosexuality". Now consider, say, the Catholic Church's stance on those subjects: evolution is totally true, homosexuality is only as bad as hetrosexuality. And let's not get started on people who think bringing in any sort of topic about the Old Testament is relevant to anything other than Judaism!
-People making massive complaints about people who have a thing against homosexuality, while near-simultaneously complaining about how pedophiles are barely human! I mean, I've seen people saying that all pedophiles are rapists, all pedophiles will inevitably be racists no matter what, all pedophile rapists can never become reformed and should be locked up forever/executed, and, in one case, all pedophile rapists are
completely soulless and inhuman! Here's a tip: if you have a thing against non-criminal pedophiles, or agreed with any of those above points, then you're a
straight-up bigot! And the worst thing is that I have seen
no posts whatsoever calling anyone out on doing those kinds of things!
...oh, did I say "things I've read in the forum"? Sorry, I meant "things I've read in
one single thread"! Here's a fun activity: look back on all the times I've come across as really condescending. Now consider that I have absolutely no grudge against any of you. Nearly every time I come across as really "above this sorta thing", it's because I really do find whatever it is as PAINFULLY stupid! (not to be confused with times that I'm giving constructive criticism. I'm just normally painfully harsh)
I think the worst thing of all was going to a Pokemon forum, looking at a topic about France banning Burqas, and people actually had a proper debate about it, discussing the pros and cons! Just as a reference, if you missed it, when it was heard here that France was planning on doing that just about
everyone who posted on it said that France was just being discriminatory and paranoid of Muslim extremists! ...despite that this being France, not America, so they don't get threats from Muslim extremists nearly as much. Also, sitting down for two minutes and thinking would tell you that banning Burqas couldn't alleviate that problem whatsoever.

Looking back at my post, I really wish I didn't have to have the last point be the overly-long, horribly-negative one, but I don't think I can do anything about that.
And as for why I made this a post in a less-frequented thread, instead of a topic in its own right? Well, because despite having just made such a massive post, I don't want people to be getting in a big fuss over what I said. I'd prefer that only the people actually interested in what I'm doing see it, and give an abridged, more relevant version when someone asks than that
everyone read it, including those that don't want to, and then get in a huff about it.
OH, as for why I'm not doing this tournament thing? Well, aside from that I really don't want to stay here, it's also because I just don't see myself finding the time for it now. Additionally, I found a kick-booty game I want to LetsPlay (Der Langrisser, SNES), and I'd prefer to do that over this.
In the interest of fairness, however, if I do do the LetsPlay (emphasis on "if", because I don't know if I can find time for that either and it's very time-intrusive), I will post it here. Just because a lot of people do really like my LetsPlay(s), and it'd be unfair to take that away because of things they didn't do.

Okay, now putting aside that you banned me for saying that just calling me an asshole isn't going to help because I'm not trying to be an asshole, because it's debatable whether my post was really that bad it deserved a ban.
And putting aside that you counted me as getting a proper tempban before despite that it was so short I didn't even realise I was banned until I got an email saying "you're not banned anymore", because you probably didn't know it was that short (either that or I just didn't realise how long it was. But I sure don't remember what I did being a big offence anyway).
You have managed to screw up
twice here:
1: Not letting me know why I was banned or for how long. The
only message I got about the whole thing was from the forum itself, saying "you have been banned". I don't know, maybe you didn't just completely forget to tell that person anything about it and just didn't realise banned people can't view the forum, but... that's just as bad, really.
2: Not un-banning me despite that you clearly said it was just for 7 days. That was 12 days ago! I do not even want to know how you managed that! Heck, it wasn't until I brought it up with you that you un-banned me!
And don't get into anything about how what I'm doing is unfair because I have well and just reasons for thinking you're bad at your job here!
