Χριστος = Greek word for "Christ"
First letter in Χριστος = X
Xmas

Holiday = Holy Day

Either way you lose.

I was planning on how I was going to post something clever in reply to this, and at the same time poking a button on my phone again and again.

I was about to post and looked down at my phone first, and lo and behold, there was my to-be post.

"FFFFFFFFFF-"

Yes, because internet sarcasm is so easy to pick up on.

What makes you think we weren't being sarcastic to match your sarcasm?

Next time I hear someone say "pop flyin' Holidays", I'm either gonna pull my hair out in frustration(which I do anyway) or tear their face off(in my mind).

I am getting sick and tired of people saying "pop flyin' Holidays" instead of referencing a real winter holiday. Since when did the world only celebrate this generic "holiday"? To me, "pop flyin' Holidays" is worse than "bah humbug" at this time of year. The greetings "Merry Christmas", "pop flyin' Hanakkuh(I just know I spelled it wrong)", "pop flyin' Kwanzah" and "*insert another non-generic winter holiday greeting here*" mean the same thing to me: "I don't care whether you celebrate the same holiday as me or not. All I care is that you and your family are well in this joyous time and may good tidings come knocking at your door. And hopefully it'll snow so we can get out of school." The phrase "pop flyin' Holidays", on the other hand, has a whole other, and in my opinion vulgar, meaning. It clearly says "In my attempt to refrain from offending those of other faiths, I'm actually offending everyone by acting as though everyone celebrates the same generic holiday. I really don't care about good tidings or the spirit of giving, I'm just trying to be so-called 'olitically correct' so that I don't get sued. And I hope the school board calls for school even if there's a week-long blizzard, 'cuz I'm a jerk like that."

So in conclusion, don't be roped into saying "pop flyin' Holidays". Say "Merry Christmas". Or, if you don't celebrate Christmas, say another non-generic greeting of choice. Don't bother being politically correct, because politics are rarely correct to begin with.

As am I.

I can't wait for my Christmahannukwanzaka presents this year.

I thought you were quoting my blog at first but you weren't.
It sounds like something I would say.

Christmas. We have a Christmas Eve service at my church (it's not boring) and all that stuff. We're a small church, so we really don't have the need to drag it out.

On the secular side, the real estate beneath our Christmas tree is barren, which is worrying me considering it's six days until Christmas. Not enough time to wrap presents/ compose whole sentences anymore.

On another note altogether, I could've sworn I heard our new superintendent say "Merry Christmas!" while walking through the cold freezing halls of the school yesterday. I nearly fell over in shock.
