Actually, for the tutorial thing, the person who I think of first in the intro thread is Ame. He could be like the "Look, if you gotta stay, here's what you do..." kinda guy.

Basically, I just have the same request as Firestorm. If you want help with the story, I'd like to assist.
I could also help with sprites, although not animation.

Since we're not supposed to insert people unless we're enemies, I suggest perhaps we go about it this way.

A new member has joined the forums. His real name is Ryan. He's been an avid reader of the comic for a while and after lurking for a few weeks has finally decided to join in order to leave a comment in that week's comic thread. After posting in the 'Introduction Topic'/doing the tutorial, he decides to post a bit more and notices some kind of corruption in a relatively insignificant thread.

The thing is, for the past few weeks, before Ryan joined, a group of new members joined up in order to start corrupting AZ, create havoc and infighting and basically cause the forum to collapse in on itself, destroying it. These 'shadow members' have infiltrated the different groups in the forums: the comic editors, the adventurers, the artists, the upstanding members of society, the picture posters (funny, epic or otherwise), and the gamers; who have now made Katie divide the forum into their own respective boards so that they don't have to put up with each others crap.

The hub could be the General Shenanigans section, which for some reason hasn't been changed during the great upheaval and is the first to be liberated in your grand crusade. You can get consumables (hp and mp potions, temporary power-ups and one-shot attack items), buy minor upgrades in the form of custom titles or locations (inorite) and mingle with NPCs.

From General Shenanigans, they can go back to the forum index in order to transport to the different boards, in order to liberate them from the corruption which has run rampant. You'd have to find the 'shadow member' (or members?) and defeat them while fighting enemies and gaining experience.

Your wouldn't buy your weapons in the game, you'd upgrade them periodically in each zone. Not sure what the weapons should be. The party size should be small, maybe two other people including the main character, which would allow for more intimate character growth (though it might not be necessary since this is a 'notsrs' game).
