Though I did hear that the "plot" is basically the same exact plot from the first one, that they're celebrating the Star Festival as if they hadn't done so in the first one.

I don't know why, it just bothers me that they're ignoring the first game, like it never happened. And I loved the first game, that's part of why I'm getting this game!

That's what I was HOPING would be the explanation, but I haven't heard anything official. So until then, I'm just going to assume that's what happened.

BTW, I just want to mention, I love the new species, Whittles. They're cute. I hope we see more of them in future Mario games.

At the end, they start the Star Festival over again, with every galaxy, planet, and character within close range of Earth. There's even a "galaxy" you can play where you walk through the Star Festival, and all the characters from the game are there celebrating.


Sorry if spoilers, but I mean, come on, guys! Did no one catch this?

Yeah I always just figured Galaxy 2 is a sort of alternate story to Galaxy 1. Like, Mario doesn't need a timeline for his games or anything, but I like to think they happen at the same time. You just get to decide which one happens by playing it?

It's sort of like if you had to color a tree and you can choose from "forest green" or "pine green."

That's kind of what I was assuming, but then I heard that Nintendo wasn't going with that angel and just decided to remake the game.

I don't know anymore, I'm just going to go with that theory.

But where's Rosalina?

I hear she appears in the game, but I don't know where (I want to find out for myself when I play the game).

The Super Guide is a "Cosmic Witch" that is basically a blue shadowy Rosalina. But I don't think she actually appears.

I bought the game yesterday and I just beat World 1. Gobblegut is hard, the way he always follows you, it makes it hard to hit his "bellyache bulges".

Other than that, though, I think the game is really neat. I like the new characters and power-ups. Plus, riding Yoshi is fun!

Yeah it's definitely a good, solid game. I like the first one more though. I can't really explain why, I just think it had better atmosphere or something...
