It's wierd that it isn't dragon type... It's fire/flying. What the hell? That is a DRAGON. Not a flying type.

Well, it looks like a dragon to a Westerner, but Eastern dragons are a lot more like Dragonair or Rayquaza than Charizard or Dragonite.

Still, there's more to being a dragon-TYPE than looking like a dragon. Sudowoodo looks like a plant, but it's a rock-type. There is some special quality of dragons that Charizard does not have.

I have such a hard time drawing Eastern-style dragons because I'm so used to the Western style. But any dragons are awesome in my books.

Once Tolacot (might change name) is fully evolved, Dead Jizz is out of the party. While yes, it's sad that Charizard is not a dragon type, it does mean he can fly and that means 1 more space for another party member. I doubt it will be worth it to have 2 fliers anyway.

Make them fight to the death. The victor stays on your team.

In RBY, Lance has two Dragonairs, one Dragonite, one Aerodactyl, and a Gyrados. No Charizard there. Also keep in mind that there was ONE evolutionary family of dragon-type in Gen I.

By your logic, Arbok and Golbat are ghost-types, Onix is a fighting-type, and Slobro is an ice type.

I think you'll find that none of those are true.

um... no, man. sudowoodo was made intentionally to look like a plant, so it could camouflage itself. charizard's not dragon because the first gen guys wanted dragons to be a special and rare type.

onix is a rock, thats easy to explain. arbok is a poisonous snake and golbats a fucking bat, slobro is a sloth-type of creature that gets a shellder attached to its tail

i see no correlation in what i said with the pokemon you just said. and i believe i just kicked lances booty and he did indeed have a charizard in gold, so apparntly he saw him as some form of a dragon otherwise a he wouldntve given him a second thought

haha hitman he's saying that just because lance is a dragon trainer that doesnt make all his pokemon dragon. bruno is a fighting trainer so by the logic that lance would have only dragons would also render onix a fighting type because bruno would only train fighting types

Notice I said RBY. For GSC, we have Karen's Vileplume (Grass/Poison) and Gengar (Ghost/Poison), Bruno's Onix (Rock/Ground) again, and Koga's Forretress (Bug/Steel).

And you have yet again done nothing to address the issue that Charizard lacks some special quality that is required for being a Dragon-TYPE Pokemon. Looking like a dragon is not enough.

I'm never getting a dragon type.
Too impossible.
But keep discussing.
And what is the special quality of a true dragon anyway?

A weakness to ice and a resistance to fire, electricity, grass, and water that has nothing to do with any other typing.

And now you know!

Seriously, though, it's some quality within them. A draconic quality.

Just IMO, Dragonite doesn't look very 'draconic'...it looks like a fat orange Barney. With tiny stunted wings.
