I suspect this thread has been made countless times, but I did a search, and got nothing. So I'm going to take the chance and make it. So why do you have your username?

Mine was a gradual creation. Back in 2003, I joined Gamers.com to post on the forum, as a huge fan of EGM. At the time, I had just played and beaten Chrono Trigger for the first time (after confirming it as my favorite game just 5 years before), so naturally, I tried everything Chrono. Chrono + my favorite character. ChronoMagus was taken. Chrono + my second favorite character. ChronoFrog was taken. Chrono + frog's real name. ChronoGlenn was taken. So I went down the list, until I merged Chrono and Mother Brain (the boss in Robo's side quest) and got Chronobrain. Later, I made my own forum within Gamers, and amassed an army of friends, one of whom decided to call me Crow for short. I liked it, and since Chronobrain had been taken on AIM (forcing me to go by Chronobrain2003), I decided to make my screen name everywhere Chrono Crow.

The same friend who inspired the name showed me a shamanism site about personal likenesses to animals, and my personality was oddly like that of a crow's. So I became kinda devoted to my namesake, favoring bird-related things. And my favorite mythical creature is the Phoenix, so I currently also use Phoequinox and Typhoenix in a lot of places. As if to say the Crow has died, but LOOKIE!

I eventually just shortened it to Escargotage though.

World of Warcraft, my friends name on the game was Jackn, and mine was Noff, and then I came up with Noffletoff, because I'm exceptionally good when it comes to names.

Chopstix was the name of a character based off of me for a friend of mines comic in middle school. The name stuck.

I was having trouble coming up with a screen name that wasn't taken on some website, so I figured I'd just use something that sounded like it wouldn't be taken very often.

It worked.
