Because seeing a solder cry in anger in the middle of a smokey battlefield around dead bodies is so completely vague.

While some are still fighting for that matter.

It's easy to see what the obvious is, that much is a given. But as it's the last panel in the comic, it's supposed to contained the funny, or at least the reveal. That's what I was seeking.

The funny was the fact these people are laughing, having good times, and later going out for ice-cream. Meanwhile the people they command are dying. APATHY IS FUNNY! :awesome:

Yup, he was just taking a drive along and somebody came out of nowhere and pushed his jeep over. Totally nothing to do with it obviously being a war scene, and unrelated to the guys before talking about battling. Nope, not a bit.

R.I.P: Jeep

This is an absolute favorite of mine mostly because I've always thought the exact same thing. My favorite example has got to be this transcript from early Advance Wars 2. Went something like this:

Max: Yeah! Take that Black Hole invaders! Another victory for Max!
Sami: That's all great Max but what about the troops?
Max: Don't worry! My troops eat this kind of thing for breakfast!
(thousands died that day)

I like the timing too of the strip.

If you're going to flip the first and last panels, I agree that more panels containing wartime strife. Comedy needs rhythm.

I'd say a total of three scenes of desolation, pollution, and despair, and then HEY LET'S GO FOR ICE CREAM. Hilarity Ensues!

If you stay with the original order, with or without Eagle, you should have shown the CO's laughing and casually walking in the last panel amongst all the strife. Hilarity Ensues!

In any case, you needed to make war look more horrifying. Needs more bodies and some severed limbs.

I really liked this comic. The tone in Adanced Wars games always really bothered me, although it didn't interfere with their overall level of fun-to-playness.

Interesting note though. For some reason, the soldier in the last panel to me looks a lot like it was drawn by the guy who does Fanboys.

Not a criticism or a compliment, just curious.

I thought so too. His faces tend to be a little more human-shaped than mine.
