Oh, wait, she's fine... then what the hell happened to her head?

And where's her gun?
But I suppose that would ruin the cartoony feel.

OMG Advance Wars.

Seriously fun tactic game. Sami's awesome too. :awesome:

Days of ruins hs a more flexible customization map thingy, which is why I like it. But it's (the campaign) so daisies hard.

Now for the comic.

Eagle's head is small. LULZ. And I do like playing as Eagle. Lightning Strike FTW.

And I never pictured an infantry's expression like the one in the last panel.

After all, their sprites are cheerfully cute and whatnot.

PRICELESS. :science:

Also, don't hesistate to slap me silly when I talk too much.

It seems more logical this way (I had to change the text a bit too).

Actually, I liked it better the first way. It makes just as much sense, and it had Eagle in it :D. He's dreamy...

its nice but would have needed a few "horrors of war" panels before hand and maybe slightly happier dialogue afterward. or just keep it the same as the original. idk.

DR STRANGELOVE FTW

This reminds me of how you'll sometimes fight friendly officers just so they can test your abilities.

((Stolen from another forum))
"Maam... I'm afraid you husband was killed in battle."
"Noo! *Cries uncontrollably* "Did... he at least die with dignity, fighting for something important?"
"Umm... actually, he was by an allied army when the CO's decided to have a play-battle"

Do you understand comedy?

I can see that most of Katie's comics suffer from excessive amounts of panels (hence removing Eagle).

You can deliver the joke in a number of ways - the problem with this comic is deciding whether or not panel 1 (of the original comic) is the punchline (a jovial attitude after you've just sent hundreds of men to their death)...

...or panel 3 (the infantryman breaking down).

My issues with this comic stem from the comedic conflict of those two panels.

So I ask you, sir...

...do you understand comedy?

That's fine - I'm not trying to upset anyone here.

I just hope to help people develop by questioning their approaches/pointing out different possibilities.

If you can't take criticism of your work - don't put it in a public domain.

Katie's comics almost always have me laughing to the point of tears and hiccups.

This comic was not that funny. Perhaps it was because I was unfamiliar with the game, but that's never been an issue in past comics. Half the time the comic is funny because of the situation, even with a lack of understanding the characters. Though the text can also contain a good portion of the funny.

I didn't understand who the characters were, which is fine, but I also didn't understand what side they were on. Were they PANK? Were they yellow? Having the PANK soldier in his traumatic moment made me think Apocalypse Now, but I didn't understand really what he was screaming about. Out of gas? Did someone push his Jeep over?

I think an additional panel of having troubled soldiers in the trenches console one another about how their commanders wouldn't do them wrong and how great they are, then cutting to them being a bunch of kids and caring less about their soldiers would've been appropriate.

I guess I just gotta play the game.

Look forward to the next one, regardless. :)

Because seeing a solder cry in anger in the middle of a smokey battlefield around dead bodies is so completely vague.

While some are still fighting for that matter.
