Engie offense: Build level one sentries where no expects it. You should get at least one or two kills off of it before it goes down. Just keep building them in spots where no one would think of it. Remember to range about with your pistol and shotgun, you have 212 pistol bullets, SPAM them.

Also, always build your dispenser first on defense so you have constant income of metal so you can repair your sentry unless under immediate threat.

well it depends, are you an accurate shot? cause if you are id do what falco says and be an offensive enginy and set up lvl 1 sentries in random spots as you join your team in attacking


it also depends on the map your playing, if you can go look at your fave maps with you being the only one in there and see where you can set up sentries that are hard to destroy, but cover a good bit of area.

research is the best way to go with engineering

It also helps to build your sentries above or below the enemy eyeline so they're less likely to spot them before they die to them.

If on offense, also make sure to try to build up teleporters in secluded areas. Level three, close to important areas. people will thank you for it, trust me. An offense without teleports is hell if you're a heavy or soldier.

Yesterday was pure win. Mana, admin, came onto the arena servers. This is always a good time but a bit like a unicorn. He set everyone to +650 hp per weapon and hat. Then set it to melee, then sped everyone up and boosted random damage by 200%. Went through every class like that and then class battle based on a random generator. Heavies vs medics, heavies got smoked.

Then we had an engy rush vs. engy rush. Wasn't very exciting so he boosted everyone to massive hp again and gave weapons huge clips and firing rates. 240 bullets in my pistol for one clip+rate of fire that lagged the server=godly amounts of fun.

That sounds like it had to be one of the most fun things ever.

I prefer the shotgun but that's only because I like to stay a little at range unless I'm ambushing

i've racked up heaps of kills on maps with tall shrubs of grass sticking out of the ground by doing no more than placing a lvl 1 sentry behind it

I love the Flare Gun, but I'm sticking with the Shotgun until I get all the achievements that require it.
Every weapon has its advantages and disadvantages.

demoknight is great fun, although once you get 2 or 3 heads, you're practically owning everything

I am terrible with the Eyelander. Grenades and Stickies for me.
