AWKWARD ZOMBIE

Cave Story for WiiWare was released today. Featuring modes such as Time Attack, Boss Mode, and Curly Brace Mode.

Anyone getting/got this? I would if MY DARN INTERNET WOULD WORK IN COLLEGE.

Also I woulda posted this in the other topic about it, but that was months old and I got yelled at it for last time soooo yeah.

So I always hear about this rape scene in Cave Story. What is that?

Rape? Wait what? Do you mean the secret "Sleep with a upstanding member of society" part? It was disturbing to go to sleep and wake up with a purple... BUNNY thing next to you. And her lipstick in your inventory.

jfidasofjsdak I think it's bad that the only reasons I want a wii so badly are cave story and the megaman games.

eh, I'll stick to the usual PC version since I actually have that.

I think it's the part where one of the bosses holds some chick in front of him and makes odd noises

Oh. Ooooh. Yeah I think I remember now.

So there are LOTS of sex scenes then--

I got the Wii version.

-The music cuts between rooms. It's freaking annoying.
There are a lot of other minor things I hate, most of them concerning the background music being dumb.

-The Curly mode is basically the exact same game with random dumb lines thrown in to make her talk.

-The Sanctuary Time Attack mode is annoying because there's no missile launcher, you have to grab all the weapons and HP upgrades available from chests and have to wait like five seconds while the WEAPON/LIFE GET chiptune plays.
I mean, you have to do that every single time you die. And if you've already been in Hell, you should know that happens a lot.

-The Boss Rush mode is pretty well-made. For some reason in that one you don't have to wait for the music when opening a chest.

-The upgraded graphics and music are all right, but different. The re-translation is go-- never mind, I played it more and there are quite a few things that uh, suck compared to the original one. The sixty frames per second are delightful.

-I think the AI was improved, but don't quote me on that.


If you haven't played Cave Story in a while, like it, and have the cheddar, go ahead. I think I prefer the original just because it's less buggy.

Oh, and I am being nitpicky, but it is not a bad remake at all. I am merely disappointed considering the amount of time that was spent on its making.

I find it amusing that a commercial release of a game is more buggy then the free one.

...Now I want to go beat cave story again, damnit.

Well, I don't think they're technically bugs, but they're annoyances that weren't fixed nonetheless.

Music cutting between rooms is, in my book, a bug that I would fix, and if I didn't have the power to fix it I'd walk down to the audio programmer's office, knock on his door, wait for him to answer and then yell "FIX THE STUPID MUSIC, DUMBASS."

Pretty sure they don't have a specific programmer for audio. Mostly because you don't program it, you just shove it in.
