I cried when Ash let Butterfree go.

Also, I like a good cry every now and then. I don't know why, I just.. I never have a reason to cry and then when I do it feels strained and awful.

I actually cried a little from the end of The Graveyard Book.
There's also the movie Black Beauty, and I kind of got a little sensitive when Hercules left his mortal parents in the beginning of the movie. No tears, though.

Well excuse me princess. It was around 1 in the morning when I finished.
The only living girl he likes dumps him and the dead girl he likes also dumps him but that's because she's dead.
He becomes unable to see and hear his "parents", his caretaker leaves him, and he's basically left all to his lonesome in the living world, around... fifteen? I dunno.

I mean, it's not like anyone slings an arm 'round his shoulder and goes "here, you can stay at my place and get mad skillz living there" at the end of the book.
If you think about it the only things he got by then was his manhood and vengeance on his family's killers. And possibly some creeper skills.
