i have this weird habit. it only really applies to people i don't know or like that much

so when someone makes a really lame non serious comment or a comment that's a lame attempt to be funny i reply as if i've interpreted it bodaciously, so basically acting as if i've missed all the non-literal communication involved with the person saying the comment

i guess it's because i don't want to acknowledge something that i think is really lame as funny so i decide to make it awkward

i can't look into people's eyes when i talk especially if it's someone i don't know very well or if it's someone who holds some sort of authority over me

i'm better at listening when i don't make eye contact because then i'm not distracted by the soul crushing feeling of having someone bore into your brain with the power of their eyes
