People move. Describe where they are, what they are doing. Dialogue is not important.

A proper writer can express more with description than dialogue.

I'm throwing the idea out, so When i make the comic, the entire thing wont be garbage that no one likes

if I hadn't done this in the first place I would've ended up making that KH rip off for a comic; there would've been all that work for nothing

and cussing me out isn't exactly what i call "critique"

People seem to be not only critiquing your literature but also your art, which I think is unfair. So I'll try and help.


"Morning dear" Miss Anna said cheerfully. She was an elderly widowed woman. She ran the villlage orphanage, and also worked here for extra cheddar.


Like the others said - show not tell. Instead of saying that she needed the extra cheddar and was poor, you could say

Miss Anna - who although had no reason to be cheerful because of her current circumstances: the loss of her husband, her lack of cheddar and busy life still put on a brave smile and greeted me cheerfully. She was a busy woman, and had two jobs in order to survive. Miss Anna didn't have two pounds to rub together yet she still clothed herself well, her shawl was clean if tattered and old and her hair was kept up in a tight, neat bun.

This has given you a good insight into her life and lifestyle, don't keep all of it brief, give the characters personality.

This is the short story thread. Not the "Comic Idea/story" thread. And for comic popularity, who cares? As long as you have fun, even if it is utter shit in everyone's eyes, as long as you enjoyed it, just go through with it.

Tales is actually trying to help, the rest of you are just being assy-holey.

This is the absolute WORST mindset you can have. Do NOT say something like that if someone says they don't like your art. Then you just become another Chase the Hedgehog. People WON'T like your art, and you have to accept that. Don't counter it with "I have x followers" or "x people like my art". Acknowledge their opinion and move on.
