Mrrrrm.. It's morning. Well, it could be afternoon or evening for all he knew. He progressively shifts through nocturnal. Rubbing his eyes, he opens them and blinks slightly at the three figures silhouetted against the light of the cave enterance.
He rolls onto his belly and lifts himself up, his thick tail dragging against the ground as he walks past them, slightly pushing them out of the way. He then lays down in the sunlight on his back, warming his belly. The jellyfish inches around behind him, having enough common sense to be scared of three random intruders, one which previously attempted to attack the big brown creature.
After a while of staring, Squigzog breaks the silence.
"Um?"
Peter slowly looks out, staring at the creature's tail. The tail, the tail, whyy the tail, what is it about that tail.
"This is your deadly monster?" Dei chimed in, a grin plastered on his face. "The fat thing's just lazing in the sunlight, and look! That thing on his neck, is that our Key?" He crept up to the beast, but unluckily the buckle is on the back, and he's laying directly on top of it.
"D--Don't go near it! It'll eat y--"
"Really? Will it?" Squigzog shot Peter a sarcastic look.
"W-- B-- When I was little..."
"Calm down," Dei called to Peter, nudging the beast with his foot. It wiggled its paws and tail a little, but not much else. "I don't think we're going to die here. Well, not unless he rolls over on you or something"
Squigzog sighed. They needed that key, and they can't hurt the creature, so they'll just have to wait until the thing rolls over before they can get to the buckle. He sat on a rock next to the creature's face, staring at it. It stared back, but not in an intimidating way. It just.. Looked at him.
All of a sudden, it opened its jaws and grabbed Squigzog's leg in his mouth and rolled over, clambering over him.
"H--Help! It's-- It's-- .. It's chewing on me?"
The creature was passively gnawing on Squig's upper arm, his tail thumping the ground happily. Dei took the initiative, and clambered onto its back, fiddling with the collar. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't get it off. It just looked like an ordinary collar, but when he tried to undo it, it seemed to weld together.
"Squig, I can't get it off"
"NEITHER CAN I"
