yea, my writing= bad
but let me clear up some thing on the story....


A long time ago, The world was full of magic. People used it regularly, and it was just another part of life. One day, the queen was in her garden when she was captured by a warlock and held for ransom. The king did everything in his power to appease the man, but he wouldn't come to peace. The warlock killed the queen.
The king was so overcome with grief and anger that he banned the use of magic. any who were caught using magic were immediately killed. The king went as far as to gather his head Mystics and curse the land, draining the magic out of all the people.
Key points in the world still had magic, such as the Mana Tree. anyone who used will around the Mana Tree or such a place would be filled with magic. But since will was never needed around such places, magic was never returned to anyone.
Ages past and history turned into legend. No one believed in magic, much less used it, and the ones who did use it hid it from the eyes of the world. Eventually the people who once used magic were given a name- Mystics.
Magic can spread like wildfire; just as one could gain magic by using will around a place such as the mana tree, someone can gain magic by using will around another person who has gained magic.

Reading your stuff is like watching seven Semi's full of Cliche have a head-on collision.

So they used magic to kill all magic? Seems illogical to me.

that would be the easiest way to do it

I mean, how else are you going to get rid of magic?
1. you kill everyone and hope they don't use it
2. you take their magic

MAGIC MUST DEFEAT MAGIC

And I did read all of it Zang. It does have far too many cliches for my liking though.

The King hates magic so he gathers all of his magic users to take away their own powers. And they have no problem with this.

try making a story without kings, queens, warlocks, knights, mages, mana trees, magic, or anything like that.

well, I suppose they would have seen it this way- Take away magic, or die.

Who would take away the magic if they were killed though?

So they make themselves useless to the king and have the only knowledge of a forbidden art which the king is threatened by. Sounds the same as a death sentence to me.

not the only ones, everyone else knew about it too.

however, the fact that the main characters would be the only ones with magic does kinda bother me

seriously, stop rehashing your magic stories over and over again. no offense intended, but they're only getting more cliched.

Remember, Zang, when writing a fantasy story, it can be about anything. You don't have to limit yourself to things like magic and mana trees. Just try to make something up that no one has thought of before.
