Anyway, I'm not usually one to go out of my way to find a random artist on DA to tease their work but oh my god I wish I had the link to the DA artist who uses period blood as her art medium.

YOU GOT A STORY THERE THAT WOULD MAKE A GREAT DAILY DEVIATION

Art, for good or ill, is in the eye of the beholder. What one person sees as art, could be garbage to another. To me, I've never liked Picassos work, or Pop/modern/cubist art in general. It just looks bad to me. But there are people who pay millions for it. Same with stuff you see on DA, it's popular because there are lots of people who like it. Maybe not for the same reasons as others, but they like it in general. You could think that it's terrible,but its still popular.

Now sure, there is stuff out there that is "holy crap it is blatantly obvious this is bad", but its still popular. But being deviantart, and on the internet, many people like art for what it represents more than quality. Like Sonic/Naruto recolours, fetish art, pairings, bad fanfics, pictures of pets, that sort of thing. People like it because of what it is, not for how it looks. Maybe they don't see a deep meaning, maybe they just really like anime or upstanding members of society or "LOL UR A HOT GURL". It's the mentality of whoever is on the site. It's not a fun truth, but I think its truth none the less. It's why I don't post art on there anymore, not that I'm good at drawing in the first place.

Even the "good" recolors are terrible.

The art is my penis.

I would hang a poster of that in my house.

I set up a DA account once. It was just these drunken etchings

The only reason I got a DA was because an artist I loved during my "-Sonic OC'ing making- weeaboo" days said I should get one and I was all ohk

I don't mind the place that much since the drama is far from me thank god.
