I don't particularly feel like making a hueg post, so I'll let you off easy.
I don't actually own TvC, so I can't verify, but I'm assuming you can access a command list through the pause menu or something. Go ahead and take a look. Then try some.
If it's anything like most fighting games, you should be able to pick up easily. If you're rolling in from Smash Bros. then yes, it may seem like some foreign language, but seriously, try it. Practice with it. Fighting games have come a long way since the stuff you linked.
It's just sad to see the actual gameplay turn you off, especially if you like everything else about it.
Yeah, I know that, that's why I have "download" in parenthesis, what I was trying to get at was memorizing button combinations to get to the sweet movies, when in
Super Smash Bros., it's all much simpler, and there's no button memorization whatsoever. It's like with that game, I know what I'm doing, while in this game, I just mash buttons and hope for the best.
And it's not like I'm NOT trying it, it's just I started out a bit out of my league and I didn't know what I was doing, and I always get frustrated when things don't turn out as I'd like them do. I'm getting used to it, though.
Anyway, I finally decided to settle on using the GameCube controller. Right now I'm playing as Ryu on the Arcade mode and... Well...
I FREAKING LOVE PLAYING AS RYU! Shooting Hadokens, throwing some Shoryukens, and I swear when I managed to pull off that Tornado Whirlwind Kick or whatever it's called, I giggled like a school girl. Not only that, but I find it easier to fight as him and Gold Lightan than any character thus far... Although I've only played as Viewtiful Joe and Mega Man Volnutt, so yeah, keep trying out characters.
