My point exactly.

I added your code in at the front of this topic anyway Le Great Handsome Oppressor.

I just thought I'd make things easier around here but I don't know... whatever.

I added people here, could play a few games if anyone wants.

Great games Le Great Handsome Oppressor.

Yeah, sorry... PTX-40A is the only one I really have any control of right now, but I try to hold off from using him.

I need to get some practice in methinks.

Will probably be on again tomorrow.

Great games DnD!

Nah, don't worry about using PTX-40A. I'll have to learn the matchup anyway, so it doesn't matter if you use him.

Yeah I need training too. Doronjo is fun, and surprisingly, so is Kaijin no Saki. I like Morrigan too.

I'm so used to playing Brawl I keep thinking the L and R buttons will let me shield against attacks (I'm using GC Pad), Derp.

Gotta get out of that habit.

I finally played it, and to honest, I'm mildly peeved. Why can't more fighting games be like Super Smash Bros., the controls are so much more simpler than trying to remember all the combos and which direction the control stick/control pad has to be in (I used a GameCube controller, BTW). Especially guarding. I looked in the manual, and the only way to guard I found was to push the control stick down-right, and it's very picky as to what constitutes down-right.

This was particularly frustrating when I reached Yami, and I was beaten by it 15 times in a row... Sort of. The first time, I managed to make it all the way to it's third form before I bought it, but I couldn't continue, because in my frustration, I had accidentally set my Wavebird controller to a different frequency, and by the time I realized it, I got a game over, and had to start all over again. And again, and again, until finally, I went "Fuck it!" and set the difficulty to the easiest it can get, and I still got beat by Yami once before I finally completed the arcade mode.

...My personally frustration aside, I liked the game... Sort of... I think... I'm not really sure at this point. I know fighting games make me frustrated, but I never had this problem with Soulcalibur and Dragon Ball Z Budokai. Maybe it's just 2D fighter's that aren't Super Smash Bros.

Well, even if I don't like the game, I love the characters, the concept, the graphics, and the endings... Or ending, since I only beat the arcade mode once, with Viewtiful Joe of course. I plan on beating it with everyone, though, starting with my favorites. Anyway, the Viewtiful Joe ending was very entertaining.

I'm going to unlock Frank West and Zero as soon as I can. Until then, I'm gonna go to bed.

If you need some help unlocking the hidden characters:
Frank West - Beat Arcade Mode with 3 different Capcom characters
Zero - Beat Arcade Mode with 6 different Capcom characters

Tekkaman Blade - Beat Arcade Mode with 3 different Tatsunoko characters
Joe the Condor - Beat Arcade Mode with 6 different Tatsunoko characters

Yatterman-2 - Beat Arcade Mode with the 4 unlockable characters.

Note that the character that delivers the finishing blow to Yami is the one that counts.

----------

There's also a way to do it really quickly.

Go to the game settings menu and change your options to this:

Difficulty: Easy
Round Time: 30 secs
Hyper Gauge: Maximum
Damage: Highest (4 Stars)

Makes it easy to speed run the game.
Spooky ghost text in there. Nice.

Thanks for the tips.

Also, I now hate the Wii Remote, too. First of all, when I'm on the main menu, I have to hold the Wii Remote vertically, but everything else, I hold it horizontally. THAT. MAKES. NO. SENSE!

Secondly, while I do appreciate the simpler controls, I feel like I'm constricted to what moves I can and can't use. Not to mention I hate having to shake the Wii Remote to switch out. I know I hate being "that guy" who keeps complaining about the motion controls, but whenever I try to switch characters, I only end up using them to do an attack assist.

When I played through the arcade mode, I used Mega Man Volnutt and Viewtiful Joe. I already saw the Viewtiful Joe ending, but I like using him, and besides, if I beat Yami's third mode with Mega Man Volnutt, I'll get his ending. Unfortunately, I couldn't switch characters, no matter how man y times I tried to, and I ended up losing Mega Man Volnutt and having to finish with Viewtiful Joe.

So, yeah, the Wii Remote just ended up making me even more flustered. Oh well, I guess I'll just try the other control schemes.

You have to hold back AND shake the wiimote to switch characters, no?

Anyway, use a GameCube controller. It's way better.

That's just what I did, but it only did an assist attack whenever I tried!
