If you need some help unlocking the hidden characters:
Frank West - Beat Arcade Mode with 3 different Capcom characters
Zero - Beat Arcade Mode with 6 different Capcom characters
Tekkaman Blade - Beat Arcade Mode with 3 different Tatsunoko characters
Joe the Condor - Beat Arcade Mode with 6 different Tatsunoko characters
Yatterman-2 - Beat Arcade Mode with the 4 unlockable characters.
Note that the character that delivers the finishing blow to Yami is the one that counts.

There's also a way to do it really quickly.Go to the game settings menu and change your options to this:
Difficulty: Easy
Round Time: 30 secs
Hyper Gauge: Maximum
Damage: Highest (4 Stars)
Makes it easy to speed run the game.
Spooky ghost text in there. Nice.
Thanks for the tips.
Also, I now hate the Wii Remote, too. First of all, when I'm on the main menu, I have to hold the Wii Remote vertically, but everything else, I hold it horizontally. THAT. MAKES. NO. SENSE!
Secondly, while I do appreciate the simpler controls, I feel like I'm constricted to what moves I can and can't use. Not to mention I hate having to shake the Wii Remote to switch out. I know I hate being "that guy" who keeps complaining about the motion controls, but whenever I try to switch characters, I only end up using them to do an attack assist.
When I played through the arcade mode, I used Mega Man Volnutt and Viewtiful Joe. I already saw the Viewtiful Joe ending, but I like using him, and besides, if I beat Yami's third mode with Mega Man Volnutt, I'll get his ending. Unfortunately, I couldn't switch characters, no matter how man y times I tried to, and I ended up losing Mega Man Volnutt and having to finish with Viewtiful Joe.
So, yeah, the Wii Remote just ended up making me even more flustered. Oh well, I guess I'll just try the other control schemes.
