I have the same problem.

Most parents that care what the fuck their kid is doing with his time fail to recognize that C is supposed to be average. I remember that between grades 3 and 9 I was on perma-ground status for not reaping straight As. Then my mom went to some wierd parenting seminar and decided to back off.

Lo and behold, now that I'm not being monitored and cooped up at my house 24/7, my grades have improved, because I now get to do stuff to unwind when I need to.

I wish my parents would back off. I mean, I am pretty smart, but it's not like I'm so much smarter than everybody else. My parents are always pressuring me into getting better grades, turning stuff in on time, blah blah blah.

I think that all of their pressure is making me do worse, because all they want me to do is study. I'm always tired and I keep forgetting important assignments and things I need to turn in. Even when I don't forget an assignment, the constant pressure has made me hold a serious grudge against all of my school work. I've lost the motivation to do my assignments.

Also, congrats Oracle.

I'm starting to feel lucky that my parents don't really give a crap what my grades are (as long as they're passing, I mean.)

Also I've noticed that my best grades are in classes I care about. probably why my best grades last semester were sociology (okay there was almost no grades in that class so it was insanely easy but still) and visual basic, which were A's while everything else was C's. even forensic science(aka take notes for 20 minutes then play videogames on laptop rest of class instead of watching the episode of CSI the teacher's showing class.)

Oh yeah. Finished Mid terms.

100 question test in Biology and a small test in History.

All in all I'm glad I'm done with Biology.

That's a BS forensic science class. I took one at my school.

Our teacher hates the inaccurazy of CSI, and only shows us real documentaries and stuff. And we had an experiment every day. We took our own finger prints, typed real blood, made fake blood trails to show the difference between a running and walking bleeding person, blew things up, looked at the differences between real and counterfeit cash...

Our final was that our Teacher turned the classroom into a crime scene, complete with a mannequin for a dead body. We had to sketch the floorplan and all the objects to scale, take pictures, collect and package the evidence properly... Awesomesauce.

My favorite class of all time.

The teacher was cool too.

Oh yeah, she'd also pick up a dead raccoon from the road and put it behind the school and we'd monitor its decomposition.
