I remember playing WoW. MMO's in my experience are only fun when you play with friends, but my friends who played WoW when I got it were too lazy to help me catch up to them. I might start again if I meet new friends who play it. (Though I'd have to make time for it too, since my schedule when the semester starts will have me out of the house for most of the day.)

For the most part, I agree. I remember playing AdventureQuest and making a one-time donation for an account upgrade. I've grown past the game, but it was fun while I still played it, and I don't regret spending the cheddar. At least they only asked for it once and then gave you all the extra content forever.

I did that too, actually. It was 10 dollars and a one time thing, so I really don't think it was that bad.
