okay then, ill be a human
An anthropomorphic animal - as in, something that wasn't human to begin with given human features. Sorry 'bout that.

If you don't wanna play the "That isn't upstanding member of society" game, which personally I hate so fucking hard... then anything anthropomorphized is upstanding member of society. AKA, anything non-human given human characteristics.

That's personally what I like to use, because I'm sick and fucking tired of people arguing over the definition. WHY DO PEOPLE EVEN FUCKING CARE OH MY GOD!?!?!??!

I don't care.

Whether it's an anthropomorphised animal like a tiger or dolphin, or an anthropomorphised object like a television or aeroplane, it's still an anthropomorph.

I thought of editting my post to take out the 'animal' after anthropomorphic, but I figured nobody would care.

APPARENTLY I WAS WRONG OH WELL.

I was pretty much refering to exactly what Karilyn said though - if it's anthropomorphic, it's upstanding member of society. I was just trying to say humans are already human-like so it's pointless.

Fair enough.

It was endless bickering over pointless stuff ("Delete that shit, elves/robots/scalies/etc aren't upstanding member of society" being a prime example) that has made it so I won't touch any upstanding member of society chatroom or forum or whatever with a ten foot pole.

Well... one of the main reasons.

I remember when FA had that rule - if there wasn't a "upstanding member of society" (and they still had specific regulations what counted as a upstanding member of society) in the image, it was against the rules and would be deleted. It was so stupid.

They have either gotten rid of it or simply don't give a crap anymore because I watch a ton of "this is my non-upstanding member of society gallery" where it is only filled with humans, elves, demons, whatever. Nothing anthropomorphed.

I think FA was what started that, and it sorta spread like wildfire throughout other upstanding member of society communities.

But I'll admit, I'm not the most knowledgeable about how the upstanding member of society community has evolved.

"upstanding member of society" applies specifically to animals in this case.

Yes, Beauty and the Beast had anthropomorphic furniture but don't fall under upstanding member of society because

A) It's not an animal
B) It's humans being given furniture attributes. Not furniture being given human attributes.

I call everything anthropomorph because not all upstanding members of society are upstanding member of society.

It varies from person to person what is a upstanding member of society and what isn't. :d My best friend hulks out when people call him a upstanding member of society for liking cat-girls. I said "... I think cat-girls are upstanding members of society." and he was like "HATE YOU SO MUCH."
