OHK PRETEND THIS IS WAY BACK IN THE BEGINNING. I JUST FINALLY DECIDED TO JOIN SORRY FOR SLOWPOKE
A Bunyip. An ancient piece of time. A link to the past. A monster.
She went by many names but never had one of her own. A rare and unknown species that lived as but a loner. This is the fate of something strange, something weird and deformed.
She was reclusive and feared humans. She's watched how they treated animals, especially ones that frightened them. They stomped on those very animals, shot them with devices that screamed a sound louder than anything she's ever heard and ridiculed them.
Only once did she encounter a human with a warm glow that felt safe. And that was but a long time ago.
She was swimming, as she usually did, but was distracted as she wandered aimlessly, imagining the good times with the One Human.
She never noticed the waterfall until it had pulled her in. Struggling, she was overcome by the strength of the river and was certain her death was imminent.
But luck would have it, a human built "mountain", as she cannot think of another name to describe such a thing, happened to be perched right where the water falls. She grabbed onto the edge hanging on to dear life and pulled herself up. Thankfully, she could survive out of water for long periods of time.
Searching her surroundings, she saw a few interesting characters. She made sure to be still and silent so they were not to notice her. It looked like an argument was going on until the figure in the middle stepped up to silence the other two.
"There is no sense in fighting!" She said sweetly. "Let us settle this another way! The first to bring me the Red Jellyfish of the South Sea shall have this dance."
The Bunyip normally does not listen to human trifles, but when she looked closer at the human in the middle who ended the fight, she felt a familiar feeling. A warm glow...
She couldn't see her face, but she knew that feeling. That very feeling that another event gave her. And she remembered, back as a young bunyip pup, the hand of a small human, held out towards her. A gesture of acceptance, accompanied with a smile of motherly love.
Could it be the One Human? She asked herself this. She wanted so much to go up and see her closer, but the one she thought to be the One Human could be frightened by her. And if not her, then her company will certainly be.
"So then" she thought, "I will find the Red Jellyfish, and win an audience with this human. She may very be the mother I lost so long ago."
This was logical to her. She wasn't much of a thinker and didn't have the luxury of a bigger brain to think in. But she believed this was the best answer.
So she walked towards the edge. Looking down into deep canyon where the waterfall is going into. A sense of fear nearly overwhelmed her, but her wants and her hopes overcame this, and then
She leaped.
She knows the river leads to the Southern lands. Southern Lands mean the direction of the South Sea.
And so her hunt begins.
I'LL POST MORE OF HER JOURNEY. SHAGGY AND I ARE CONSIDERING JOINING FORCES HUR.
