I don't play WoW either, but I guess it's an older quest that was implemented before characters of that level had access to flying mounts.
So now that they do, stuff like in the comic happens.

it might have been funnier if she just had the last panel.


but i love the sorcerer's expression in the first panel.

Probably to show that he's a sorcerer they just captured, not just some other player who gets dragged around the tundra for some reason. But what do I know.

So the joke is on the makers of the game, like breaking the fourth wall?

Then why instead of hearing the characters talking... we hear some people talking and then change the shot to in-game when one character is dragging the another one?

That would be cooler

So yeah, if the comics were more explicit instead of treating all the readers like WoW players (Im not) maybe more people would get the joke

The quest originally had you leading a handcuffed/chained/whatever prisoner by a rope to your base. There were actually several quests like that; Blizzard was all like "Yay we've coded this shiny new leash-like thingy into the game, let's use it as often as we can in quests" and so they did.

With being able to fly now, they kinda run behind you on the ground in a comically fast manner from the rope. In Katie's Universe, they drag behind you.

Prior to being able to fly at a lower level, the only "drag by a rope quests" that a person high enough to fly would be able to do, generally involved baby dragons, and other flying things.

Wow now I find out this comic is pretty funny, but with the joke been explained, I can't laugh anymore

Maybe in the future I would read again/remember this comic and laugh, and laugh, and laugh... oh booooooooooooy
