The usual representation of Death is the Grim Reaper, who is indentified as being a skeleton or at least skeletal underneath his cloak. A human skeleton. :eng101:

Personification does not actually give the thing it is being used on any kind of human form or shape. It merely describes them as such, like "the sun shone brightly down on me as if she were shining for me alone". The sun isn't human and it isn't given any kind of human features in that sentence, but that sentence is personifying it. It's just refering to something as if it were a person. The grim reaper is both, really. It's refered to as a person and given a human form (a skeleton).

Death, itself, is abstract, but it has been anthropormorphed in various forms and in various ways. The Grim Reaper is what I was using as an example. :science:

That sentence was a simile...

I heard female ligers (actually, I remember they had used gender specific names, but I forget if the females were the ligers or the tigons) could reproduce. They could produce fertile eggs and mate. Male ligers couldn't produce sperm though.

They could? Huh. That's interesting.

Also the name of the species depends on what the father was. The father's half of the name comes first. Liger= Lion father, tiger mother Tigon= Tiger father, lion mother.

At least that's what I heard.

Yup. Why, do similies cancel out personification?

The she is the only thing that makes it personification, but the way I'm reading it still makes it apply even with the similie. I'm not an expert in poetry though so I might be wrong.

My Biology teacher talked about this recently.

These people need something better to do.
