Look I'm not trying to sound like Indingo here but, besides a few really great games, most older games are awful.

It's just that people only remember the good ones.

This is due to the fact that they built off the success/learned from the FAIL of the older games to make these newer (supposedly) better ones.

Though movie games and games that are obiviously bad just won't die.

There always were shitty games and great games. And there still is. And there always will be. It's not something that is exclusive to older games.

I mean, look at the DS nowadays. It has a lot of great games, and a lot of AWFUL SHITTY HORRIBLE AUGH ME EYES games.

Your Stop Smoking Coach, Barbie Horse Princess, Hannah Montana: cheddar Sucking Game, The Ben Ten Alien Force, etc.

Alright, on what level is, say, A Link to the Past better than Okami? It loses on sound and graphics right off the bat. It loses on story soon after. And for the gameplay - you can see where this is heading.

You still haven't given an answer to why these games are better apart from saying "they're older, and that makes trhem better"

I probably should have phrased that differently. It's just that a lot of games that were considered good at the time just don't hold up anymore. Some do, but a lot don't.
