A Place To Bury Strangers started in 2003, and their new album, 2009, rules. My Bloody Valentine and The Jesus and Mary Chain are playing shows again. And there are a lot of bands influenced by shoegaze. Most of them are pretty bad (M83, Pains of Being Pure of Heart, Silversun Pickups, etc.) but whatever. I dream of some day starting a real shoegaze band.
