I could be wrong, but I swear I'm not crazy and I saw it happen again like, just yesterday.

I'll go run and fight a couple Gilgars under the Cycling Road and test it scientifically! That's a really easy to find Pokemon that uses knock-off a lot in Platinum.

Okay, this is probably obvious enough that you've already checked, but are you sure it isn't still equipped to the pokemon? You say you've checked the bag, but said nothing about seeing it the pokemon still had it.

Also, try checking your PC Pokemon.

I often forget I've left one of them holding something important.

I may be getting ready to make a huge booty outta myself after I test this...

Test commencing:

Gabite with Amulet Coin equipped.
Crobat with Experience Share equipped.
Fighting a Gilgar underneath the Cycling Road.
Gilgar decides to be an asshole and use sand attack 14 times in a row.
Knocked of Amulet Coin
Switched to Crobat
Knocked off Experience Share
Gilgar was killed

o.o? Both the Pokemon still have the item equipped, and Crobat got his 75% of the EXP...

Okay now that is just plain weird... <_<;

I lost my Trick Room TM in Platinum.
I wanted to use it just for it's battle effect after I saw it in this Let's Play. I went to check it and it was gone.
I thought that maybe I forgot to get it but when I checked the clown that gives it out he just said the dialog of what it does.
But the thing is that I never used Trick Room on any of my Pokemon. So I don't know what happened.

I would say either a glitch, you got it before and used it on a pokemon that you gave away, or someone got your game and did something with it.

Same here, I've always understood Knock-Off to disable your pokemon from using the held item in battle as I've always had the item afterwards

That's not a very good tip, considering held items can boost their attacks by 50%.

I'm not a Pokemon Fanatic, I just usually play pokemon because I either like the monsters, or I feel like manipulating some monsters...

Either way I'll probably just play Evil Genius instead...

A CHALLENGER CONTINUES TO BE APPROACHING!

Image
This is, what, the tenth time I've seen that same type of pre-battle ani? This game is

nothing but repetition!

Image
So we meet again, mister Foxcatwolf! But this time, the advantage is... STILL MINE!

BWAHAHAHAH!

Image
For you see, my Jolteon is as tough as ten tough Joletons!

Yeah, it didn't survive. Again.

Image
Round #2: big electric punching guy vs a cute li'l lady!

Image
Big electric punching guy starts out with... a firey punch? Wut?

Image
Bah!
Actually, she did pretty daisies well considering he's 8 levels ahead! She got a Trick Room

in too, even!

Still, I can't help but wonder why he didn't use those oh-so-overpowered electric moves...

Image
OOOOooooh, that's why! Motor Drive makes the Pokemon immune to electric attacks!

And Gardevoir had trace too! That is awesome!

Image
That is even more awesome! Why was I having trouble with this guy before?

Image
Oooh yeah, because of the next two bastards. Hmph.

And now they've switched order. So they ARE both Last Pokemon!

Image
Aaaand this is the part where I suddenly start to crap up. Fun.

Image
Lets keep count of how many times I lose a Pokemon to this fat-booty!
(1)

Image
I can't help but reminisce to my days of fighting a Snorlax in this battle...

Image
With a Haunter, of course!

Image
Honestly, I can take better advantage of its sleepy state with a Pokemon like PsyGuy.
Then he woke up.

Image
Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time!

Image
Take it from the top, people! Once more with feeling!

Image
ENTIRE WORLD OF FAGGOTS!

Image
Ahahah, man, talk about pathetic! Look at how much damage it did!

I think he must have run out of Focus Blast by now. Not that that was doing anything! Even

with the added weakness, Roosevelt is still a FLIPPING TANK against Special Attacks!

Which, actually, is sorta a first. Normally the opponents prefer to wail on him with physical

attacks! Even the weak ones do! Even goodam Blissies do!

Image
HAH! Plus one for the support character! Boo-yah!

...I mean Wootinary!

Image
So we meet again, Luxabast! But this time, I have AN ACTUAL TEAM!

Image
Rather than simply try punch it to death, I think I'm better to simply try out-last it. This bast

has an unfortunate affinity for Not Dying By Conventional Methods.

And by conventional methods, I mean BY FISTS!

Image
You might be noticing a trend in these next few rounds.

Image
Spotted whats going on yet?

Image
That's right, Roosevelt is actually healing faster than Luxray can attack!

Image
That should've been a straight walk-over with Roosevelt. Unfortunately, the last Thunder

Fang made her flinch, so I had to switch to a different Pokemon to take the final blow.

Also: What the hell? When did Roosevelt change from a crappy Pokemon that wasn't

even a good tank to a Pokemon that can down half the opponent's team by itself?!

Image
Aaand... I get more than I wagered?

Huh. I guess the cheddar given out must be based on your actual team strength, rather than

the same amount you'd get if you win.

Image
Since... the last battle we had? I mean, winning generally is more fun than losing!

Image
I first read that as 'bacon'! I was horribly dissapointed.

Image
Yes yes, you're the last gym, of course I'd be able to learn Waterfall from this badge!

Image
I also noticed that too. A little too late.

And by 'a little', I mean 'dear god why did nobody tell me sooner'!

Image
Oh geezus, not the Tentacruel again...

Image
"I am proud of you"? What, are you my dad or something?

Although then again, I don't think I ever met my dad...

Image
STATUS UPDATE!

Image
Soo.... what now? Pokemon League?

Image
Well actually, I can't actually get the complete Pokedex and such until I at least see all the Pokemon there is on this stinking continent! So for the next chapter, I'll be going round searching for those last Pokeys before I take on the Pokemon League!

Image
In the meantime, enjoy some good ol' Highly Annoying NPCs while you wait!

Image
YAAAAAY! This game is finally giving me the respect I deserve!

Image
Oh... oh GOD! They even worked in a Yaoi Fangirl into the game itself!

Image
Note to self: fangirls are good for freeloading from. And nothing else.

Image
Ohh yeah, I completely forgot that I actually needed the HM to be able to perform the move!

Of course, that may be because I inevitably end up getting the right one somewhere between getting the gym badge and actually making my way to where the HM is needed.

Image
That... that's the first time anyone's ever wished me good luck in this game! That's... really touching! Maybe you ain't so bad after all...

No wait, the caretaker wished me good luck too. Nevermind, you're still scum to me!

Image
Aaand that's the end of Chapter 8! Man, only two chapters left to go now!

Also, pretend that you can actually see the sun setting in that screenshot. Much more dramatic that way!
