Thanks for reminding me about that strip, I hadn't actually played SMRPG at the time. Still haven't, but watched a good LP...
The strip works in slightly different ways before and after, heh.

So it shows the AI's pathfinding and calls it a "character skill" while simultaneously breaking the 4th wall to make the game easier?

It's not really a skill, but a piece of technology she stuck to her head. Makes sense for the machines because presumably they've got some sort of wifi. But the dude is a bit stretching it.
