Got stung by an insect for the first time today and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Still horrible, but now I have a frame of reference for what it feels like.

I got stung by two different hornets, both in the same area around my ankle.

I enjoy experiencing new things. Granted, I don't want it to happen again, it was interesting to finally understand what it feels like, especially because my wife is so terrified of being stung. It was also nice to finally learn that I'm not allergic.

Not wantin' to rain on your parade, but you can totally react normally the first time you get stung and still end up being allergic. anaphylactic shock can happen to anyone, even people that have been stung dozens of times before. Not saying that that will happen to you, just saying to monitor any stings you get in the future just as closely as you would the first sting.

That's interesting to know. I didn't think about it but that does make sense.

Either way I won't skip the complementary bug spray next time I'm in that area.

I finally did it. After years of signing off of Steam in disgust over one of Val's ridiculous puns, I finally made him fuck off instead.

Lately I've been getting very much into swimming as a means of exercise that doesn't make me miserable (because I hate sweating and you don't notice it underwater).

So far I have hit a few personal milestones. I hit 2km breaststroke which is pretty easy? I like breaststroke because its so easy and I can do it for ages and just think about stuff.
Yesterday I did 500 meters of front crawl and I wanted to die by the time I was done. Why is front crawl so much more demanding? Why do I suck at breathing while doing front crawl? Why can i not swim straight lmao i'm the worst at front crawl

i63 IS IN 2 DAYS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Also I managed to get a lot of work done on commissions over the last two days and made £100, so now I can spend cheddar on stupid shit like a Scout figure (assuming they'll even have TF2 merch at i63 considering all I was able to find last year was a can of BONK, why is merchandise for this dead gay game so sparse)

It follows my trend of being into things that are somehow both obscure and popular at the same time so everybody’s heard of it but somehow I can never meet anyone irl who likes it or find any merch of it ever

Been listening to Studio Killers lately, and while their style has changed since their older stuff, I feel like it's improved and I've enjoyed it more and more over time. It's nice, something about the way their work has evolved while life's gone on is nice.

I'm not sure if Transformers falls into that 'both obscure and popular' category but I just got back from a Transformers convention this past weekend. It was a blast to meet up with so many people who were into Transformers (it's the second year I've been).

So I guess Transformers make me pop flyin'. Also niche-interest conventions.
