Are you guys into minions too?? We all know there's two camps with these sorts of viral characters - the people who are delighted by them, and the people who despise them..
Unfortunately for ubisoft, the people who play mario && post about it on the internet, for some strange reason, do not tend to be the former..

I liked the Rabbids when their first game came out, but I was also like 10-12.
The first two or three are really good party games imo, it just got old super quickly after that if anything. My main issue with them in this context is that I can't think of anyone who wanted a Mario and Rabbids crossover, not to say it's bad now that we've gotten it, but...

To be fair, most crossovers that people want are terrible. At least whoever was in charge of this decision wanted it to happen and didn't need to work under undue pressure, probably.

That's pretty much me, especially since I was introduced to Rayman through Raving Rabbids and then I got to know the real Rayman games.

That's also kinda me with Assassin's Creed. I was really excited to be able to play the series since they have a Prince of Persia vibe, but I had only a PS2, so when my parents bought me and my little brother a PS3, the first game we chose with it was the first Assassin's Creed. And honestly, it was a downer. I heard ACII is better, but ACI isn't half as good as the Prince of Persia games. That made me even sadder that they decided to stop making PoP games to make almost-yearly AC ones.

Also, I'd really like to see PoP comics here in AZ. Please make it happen, Katie. And a full HD remake of the Prince of Persia trilogy. Make it happen, Ubisoft!

Wackiness/insanity in general. Have you seen the minions in Despicable Me? A bit like that.

As if the Minions weren't already a more shapeless, yellow ripoff of Rabbids, they go and turn them into the purple Minions in Despicable Me 2 who act EXACTLY like Rabbids. Down to the noises being pretty much identical. You can find endless pictures online crossing over the two. I wouldn't be surprised if there's some kid out there who thinks Mario + Rabbids is ripping off Despicable Me.

The difference is that Minion were fine in Despicable Me 1. Just a minor mascot-like character that didn't get in the way or really matter that much beyond giving Gru something to talk to before he meets the girls, and a resource for him to access as a supervillain. The minion problem is only in the marketing (and the minions movie) and not the way their existence interacts with the medium itself.

The Rabbids, meanwhile, completely overtook and destroyed Rayman as a franchise as soon as they entered it.

You missed the point. The point being that probably the only way to ever get this thing made was if you had to use characters from both franchises. Whether or not it would have been better not to make it is another thing.

On Topic: I would totally buy this game for the Switch, I saw Vin play it, and Im pretty convinced its my piece of cake, but there is no way Im dropping 60 dollars on a game that doesnt at least give me an equivalent amount of hours.

If the game just co-starred Rayman, I could perhaps begin to consider buying it. It doesn't, and it's not going to, so I'm not going to touch it and I wish it didn't sell well.
