yeah honestly i've never heard of an apartment complex that didn't completely fuck you over after a while...one of the biggest reasons we bought a trailer. of course you deal with trailer park management unless you own your own land, but it's still way better because you own the house itself and you can do whatever you want with it. there's still like management can raise rent but generally rent is lower anyway because you're just paying for the lot, and some have dog breed restrictions, and i guess they can be bitches, but you aren't attached to your neighbour, you don't have inspections, and they can't yell at you for doing whatever you want (i mean within reason, don't be like one of my neighbours and sell cocaine out of your driveway.) do you want 34 cats? go for it. a million snakes? nobody cares. it's quite nice until the sink breaks i guess, but we're both pretty DIY people so we've never had to call a repairman yet knock on wood

course i know it's not always an option but i feel like it's one people may not think of because trailers are "trashy" and only poor ppl live in them but we've saved so much cheddar since we got out of apartments and we're a lot happier because we can have all the pets we like lmao

The two specifically about this building were from a few years ago, but looking at the pages for the management company itself, people have a lot of really negative comments about the company across several towns. Like not bothering to fix a building's outer seals, which led to a mold problem, which they do nothing about. Or just straight up not giving a fuck about theft from mailboxes and patios. And I mean, there's going to be the issue of "nothing gets fixed on the timeline they say it will unless you're friends with the manager", but it seems to be particularly obnoxious with this company.



There is a trailer park near the center of this town, so maybe I will look into that.

search for mobile home parks, that's the "polite" i guess way to word it lol. some do have renthouses which ultimately give you tons more space for about the rent of an apartment, but depending on your financial situation i would look into buying and fixing up a repo so you'll own the house yourself. kyle's dad was able to help us get a personal loan for our house and i think we paid $13,500 for it? plus another two grand ish on repairs but ours was in REALLY bad shape lol. but it's not horrifyingly expensive provided you have a stable job and a bit of credit.

overall though from what i remember renting a trailer was about the same as an apartment for like, 13,000 ft2 instead of like, 700. management is still probably shitty bc they always are, but y'know, you'll have three full bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a full kitchen..

since we owned our house we didn't deal with management much at our old place, a more traditional trailer park i guess (where we are now is family-owned so it's more lax,) but they did screw us over in the way that we were promised a certain rent that would not change, and then new management came along (this always happens??) and they jacked it up on us even though we had it written that our rent would not change. but like... this happened to us when we lived in an apartment, it's happened to bodaciously EVERYONE we know who'se live in apartments, so really you should just expect to have to pay more rent after the first year or so than you were promised. we also had a move-in deal where they covered the cost of our utility hookups etc but when we had to break lease early and move overnight because my neighbour was trying to kill us, they made us pay back that like $6,000 they had covered and it was a nightmare. probably that won't happen to you guys though lmao

I'd like to thank whoever designed this Fire HD for putting the volume buttons on the side, exactly where my meaty paws grip the daisies thing, so that I can randomly adjust the volume whenever I don't want to.

Also props to Amazon in general for removing support for Firefox and making me use the shitty Silk browser.

I want to try drawing using Paint 3D and try and draw at least King Zveroboy's hammer, but computer troubles (read: grounded from the computer only) have prevented it. At least I feel inspired to try and write more about Team PANG, the team I came up with while I was still a part of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Community Projects, but of course, everything is on the computer.

It wouldn't be so bad if I could just be artsy on the computer, but oh well. Also, July 3rd. Probably not getting From the Depths at 70% off.

my left pant leg is always twisted where the inseam goes over my shin. if i fix it, it just goes back after a few minutes. it drives my ocd booty CRAZY and i don't know why it happens!! every pair of jeans that is remotely fitten around the calf/ankle does this! WHY.

Got a first taste of the new project that was supposed to start on June 5th but got delayed until now. It's worse than the current one in just about every way, which is quite a feat. I was looking forward to it just to escape the previous one but I was already thankful today when I was called back on the previous project to fix a bug.
Instead of okayish remote desktops, we get lame virtual remote hosts which stream at, no kidding, maybe 10 FPS at best and struggle to open any file regardless of its size and take 4 entire seconds to show context menus. The ~~corporate security~~ is even more intrusive and asinine. I had to edit files in freaking notepad because I'm not allowed to install anything. Font antialiasing is turned off every time you log in and turning it on in order to not have your eyes bleed requires admin rights (wtf).The ancient remote desktop software that has to be downloaded every single time we do the interminable authentication process only supports 1 monitor, which is always great for development when you're on an equally archaic OS that handles windows terribly and you constantly have to juggle between 5 windows and each one needs to be fullscreen to be usable. The project also follows the assbackward-but-corporate-friendly-for-some-reason dogma that programmers should not be allowed to program and that every single feature should be defined as a diarrhea of declarative annotations and xml files, which surely won't cause the exact same fucking cancerous abomination that the previous project eventually became for the same reasons, right? We won't have to refactor for six months because we can't deliver the result because it performs horribly this time, right?
As soon as I made comments, I was basically called a whiny diva by the guy who called me a tinfoil hat yesterday, who used to be my coworker and will now be my superior for the duration of the project and sees nothing suboptimal with the new setup. My consolation is that everyone else who had even just a glance of the shitty performance of the remote machine reacted like me.

Ughghghhghhhhh I don't like that the only apartment that is consistently well-managed with enough space and no income restriction is like, 1020 a month.

I mean, that's partly due to their location, since they're within walking distance of a lot of shit, and they seem to update the apartments pretty regularly, in regards to wiring, floors, appliances, and so on. Which means it's totally fair for them to do that competetively, so no fault to them or anything. It just sucks that everyone cheaper is either restricted to lower income or poorly maintained. Or it's just a ridiculous distance from my work. I already have to drive 40 minutes. I'm not adding even more to that.

Stayed home sick today, got a fever out of nowhere. Only felt it coming on last night. Super random.

my pants legs catch on my leg hair and its uncomfortable
and my manscaping is behind and also uncomfortable

my replacement razors + handle arrive tomorrow, so i should be back to my smooth shaved blood sack self before long

Before I moved i lost the ability to shave anywhere because my old roommate legit stole my razors
so i guess that means he was using them and i was unaware, but jesus for how long ew (I do get some sense of blissful revenge because i had specific razor heads I used for unmentionable areas (front and back) and he seems to have been using them on his face so hahahahah fuck you)

so 2 days later when I got to my bro's house in KY I bought a temporary Gilette razor, not disposable, it was a $10 thing and its a pIIIIIIIIECE OF SHIT
worst shave i've had this side of a one blade disposable, no way in hell the scrapey itch wand was going anywhere near my junk

in 24 hours my precious Dorco stockpile will be restored
