... Oh. Well, Im an idiot then.

Do carry on.

On topic: I keep hearing off things about it right before release though. Why are people panning it right before it comes out? Shouldnt you wait to pan it AFTER it comes out, if at all?

Because video game reviewers get copies of the game before the game is officially released to the public. They get it early, play it, and then write their opinions around the time it comes out for people who were waiting to decide on whether to buy the game or not.

Only some reviewers get a review copy, mind. Sometimes companies embargo reviewers if the reviewer has written negative criticism about their previous games. Jim Sterling, as an example, has been embargoed from several AAA game companies.

Ah, so Im guessing grant and co didnt see Jim coming and let him have a copy then. Oh well. Any smart person really mostly waits for the public to say whether its good or not, not reviewers.

I mean, I usualyl put more stock into my friends recomendations than Metacritic or someone whose paid to do it.

I'm going to go into this game ready to NOT compare it to Banjo and Kazooie. I know if i DO compare the two, i probably will end up not liking this one.

Yeah, let's compare it to Donkey Kong 64, instead.

Spoiler for a character quote from the expanded area of the first world:
Quote:
"Come on, Laylee, let's help Nimbo get his release."
"Only if you wash your hands afterwards!"

Just finished the game! Not 100% - probably like 80% if I had to guess.

I really enjoyed it! I adore 3D platformers and its really nice to see a large-scale and GOOD 3D platformer produced in this day and age.

The camera was a bit iffy at times, but not enough to be really too much of a bother. Not sure how bad it was, since they patched the game for release after getting all the reviews back.

I really liked it! Fingers crossed for Twoka-Laylee in the near future?

Also I took a picture of my name in the credits. I am one of millions, but now I'm on equal standing with my older brother, who is credited in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3. kind of equal, anyway. he did actual work for it, i just threw cheddar at Playtonic until they made a thing.
