*Ahem* A summary: Everyone has a weapon that is both a melee weapon and a gun. No other rules.

I haven't seen much of any cartoons on kid channels, so if someone could bring me up to speed on CN please?
Also, original Transformers movie is the best movie. It tore the hearts of bodaciously every kid who watched the original series.
Although many regard the death of Optimus Prime a no biggie these days, back then it was really heartbreaking. As in, kids locking themselves in the bathroom for a few days heartbreaking.

Anyone else check out Samurai Jack last night? I only caught the last ten minutes due to work, but I was completely impressed with it, and cannot wait for more. It's a series that's near and dear to me, so I'm so pleased that it's remained so faithful.

Samurai Jack's been great so far. Still rather livid that Rick and Morty's April Fools marathon preempted the new episode of it this last Saturday, however. Action cartoons already get screwed over enough on Cartoon Network proper; it's a shame to see Adult Swim messing with the schedule, especially for such a high-profile show that's been killing it in the ratings department.

Rick & Morty S3 spoilers below:

As the season has progressed, I am getting more and more convinced that the Morty we've been following is going to end up as Evil Morty. Rick has only been alienating him further and further, with Morty having less tolerance for it as time goes on. Episode 4 strongly furthered these beliefs, after Morty went through that ride, only to see that Rick cared more about Noob-Noob (at that moment anyway).

So, I think Morty's eventually gonna turn on all the Ricks, starting with his own. It seems like that'll be the case at least.

Of course, with infinite dimensions, it could be another Morty, but they have been ramping up the antagonism between main Rick & Morty a lot this season.

HEY VAL

(SPOILERS FOR RICK AND MORTY S3E7 THE RICKLANTIS MIXUP)
WEREN'T YOU EVER WRONG

THis episode was..... oh my god? It tackled political promises and lies, debate shams, racial tension and divide, was a fantastic noir-esque setting, and shoved the series plot forward fucking hard.

Legit got shivers from... this part. Obviously still spoilers even if it sticks out of the spoiler tag.

The Morty Academy team were all great. Slick Morty had a sad ending... can we please not have two episodes in a row where a Morty makes Tate sad because of self-loathing or suicide, thanks? Incestuous Glasses-Wearing Morty (honestly cannot recall his name, if they said it) was amusing. Left-Handed Morty was great. He should try eating vegetables with that hand. Lizard Morty was adorable?

Also, that preview for the next episode.
"We're doing this instead of Interdimensional Cable."

There are times when I wish people could just rant and gush and spill all the beans about stuff like Rick and Morty, as someone who doesn't have the time or patience to get into yet another show but still wants to know at least the gist of what people are talking about when they make posts like the previous one. Need some Rick and Morty cliffs notes.

Like, yeah, I know the response is usually something like "I KNOW BUT YOU REALLY SHOULD JUST GO WATCH IT" and I'm like "Yeah but I'm still not going to, so it's either 'get it in spoiler dump form' or 'continue to ignore it'," like Gravity Falls or Steven Universe or the remainder of Avatar after I'd managed to catch the majority of the first two seasons here and there.

It's dumb toilet humor crossed with sometimes obscure cultural references and some mainstream ones.
It's also got a lot of science jokes and a lot of nihilism jokes.
The show is funny, and also sad.
Some episodes are very dramatic, some are solely comedy.

It's just a good show.

And, like anything else that draws a lot of attention, the fanbase is unbearably shit. You know, the people who said "the cake is a lie" and thought it counted as a joke.

Referential humor is great and works well if done right, references AS humor never works and is the reason the majority of the fan following for something popular is complete and utter garbage 100% of the time.

Rick and Morty will improve dramatically if Justin Roiland manages to convince people that "Pickle Rick!" was only amusing in the context of that one episode and stopped being funny as soon as it ended.

I'm sorry this turned into a bit of ranting.

I like the show but hate everything else about it. The fanbase, the circlejerking about the fanbase, and the fact that it took nearly 3 years for the third season to come out. It's a good show, but if you don't inherently want to watch it, then I'd say skip it.

Once upon a time, when Exeres was a wee lad, he read a webcomic called RPG World. It was a charming little joke-a-day strip that made fun of RPG tropes, Final Fantasy in particular. It went on for some years and gained a far more serious storyline, but just as the final rise to the climax was beginning, the comic's artist, still a young man, lost interest in the work. A combination of disillusionment with his fanbase and a desire to pursue full-time education in animation led to his bleak announcement that the comic would not be continued or completed, and that was that.

Fast forward several years. For no reason in particular Exeres decided to check in on that old comic to see if it was still hosted. There he found a link to an episode of a current Cartoon Network show called OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes. Imagine the swell of nostalgia and vicarious pride as, with some minor research, Exeres learned that that same comic artist, Ian Jones-Quartey, was now a professional animator working on several high-profile series, including one of his own creation. There is even an episode featuring Hero, protagonist of that ancient webcomic, with a brief epilogue giving him a pop flyin' ending with his love.

I can't lie, I teared up watching this short cartoon.
