Saw the whole Pokedex because I am a dirty cheating bitch

I'm thinking my team will be Decidueye, Alolan Raichu, Crabominable, Ribombee, Toxapex, and Salazzle.

As someone who has been keeping up with the data for these games, just know it looks like catching Pokemon is going to be a bitch. Not really spoilers but if you're unsure I'll tag what I mean in regards to the changes in encounter mechanics below:

Routes can be subdivided into multiple patches of grass with different encounter tables. So like route 1 has about 3 encounter tables for around your house (early mons), around the end of the route leading to town (bugs and stuff) and a sectioned off portion that you can access later with Tauros. In addition, there are rare pokemon (1-5%)meaning that unless you scour every patch, it is going to be easy to miss a shitload of mons without a guide, and if your guide just says "Route 1" you are screwed to know where the patches are. It does not take the gen 5 approach of color coding which grass uses which encounter table, you just don't know where to find that Pokemon until you have it seen in your dex and can zoom in on the map to see the individual grass patches marked for where to hunt. Be prepared to be annoyed looking for a Pokemon you haven't seen yet. You may want to hunt down a trainer to see it first or grab a QR code online to register it as seen.

Pre-ordered sun just today. I haven't bought a new pokemon game since Soul Silver, so this is gonna be quite the experience.
Also I may have spumbled myself on the music, but I think it was worth it to hear the bumpin' tunes.

Huh. Just caught a Crabrawler. I'll have to see how it fares compared to Makuhita.

I'm finding the soundtrack very underwhelming so far, although this one track on Route 2 kinda reminds me of Spirit Tracks. I think it's just one of the woodwinds being used.

Also for some reason setting the control scheme to L=A makes it so that the R button can't activate the camera. Weird.


My thoughts exactly. I'm still kinda curious about what their goals and motivations are, but yeah.
