like i said in the other thread, the alamo is hilarious. go eat at mi tierra too, it's this awesome restaurant and bakery in the mexican...market area? it's a bit pricey but worth it for a special occasion. if you can't afford food, at least get some pastries. i recommend the churros with the cream in them.

So Anthrax was incredible, as if there was any doubt, and Death Angel and Sworn Enemy were amazing bands opening for them. I'm half-deaf and sore from the pit but goddamn it was bliss.

I built a desk. I'm going to build a PC soon (I've had the parts for a week now, I really need to stop procrastinating) so I got a desk for my new room.

Never mind that the PC case, I just checked, is too large to fit in the cubby hole in the desk where it's supposed to go and never mind that one screw might have skewed aside and created a bulge in the kneeboard, the point is I built a thing.

Bruh be like me and perch your PC on your desk so you can gaze at your most prized possession/creation/baby while you use it. Bonus points if you put lots of LEDs up in there.

EDIT: I just remembered, this happened earlier this week. I managed to explain the chemical reactions of photosynthesis to my Biology students by using the Pokemon games as an analogy. I was really impressed that i managed to pull that off, with them helping me out and offering suggestions and stuff. And they actually understood it.

Effortly passed my second WEST E (teachery test) for choral music (I am very much instruments and theory, not vocal) in half the allotted time. After a similar experience (with an even better score) on the instrumental WEST E, I am apparently doing better at assessments than a notable portion of my peers. Probably has to do with the fact that I actually bothered to retain theory and history, and didn't just assume "OH, WHEN AM I EVER GOING TO NEED TO KNOW WHAT AN AUTHENTIC CADENCE SOUNDS LIKE? NEVER, MOST LIKELY. HAHAHAHA" Unlike SOMEONE in my department who I already didn't like anyway, but that gave me another excuse.

My father has been campaigning for this woman running for Treasurer in my hometown, and it's been a fairly uphill battle because the current party is just so ingrained in the county that it's very had to even get anyone on the opposite side even recognized, regardless of all the scandals that keep coming out. For most county positions party is irrelevant as, it really should be about who can do the job the best. They're not really making or voting on any policies here...

Well, she hit the front page on Reddit through /r/funny thanks to her current ad campaign. And most of the comments are fairly civil, which is great! She's had a bunch of college students (the hardest potential voters to get the attention of) come up to her and ask for a picture! It was really cool seeing her on there, completely random.

Back from graduation. I am now the double-stuffed Oreo of nerds.

A super awesome calculus teacher I had in one class back in 2010 recognized me and remembered my name.

My mother gave me a hug as I walked back to my seat after getting the diploma.

Holy shit, does the middle one actually have a dewlap that large, or is it just the way its fur was sitting? I don't think I've ever seen that before (then again, I've seen lean 4-H and pet rabbits, not breeders and meat rabbits).

that is in fact her dewlap. most rabbit breeds have big dewlaps but some bigger than others. these rabbits were crossed often with new zealands and silver foxes, and they have big ol dewlaps. the brown one has a fairly sized one too, but they don't look as big when they're sitting up/doing anything other than the bun loaf position.

it's like they're just enveloped by them. big bun = big chinboob, i guess.
