People who dislike all pineapple are basically wrong in all opinions forever. Pineapple is the best fruit, pineapple for president 2016

However, I understand people who don't like pineapple on pizza, it is kind of an unusual taste. I actually really hated the idea of pineapple on pizza as a kid, but I tried it again as a grown-up and I really like it now. It goes best with bacon, though, ham is just okay.

CON: Raw pineapple has an enzyme that dissolves soft tissue in your mouth. It eats you while you're eating it.

Pineapple is okay-to-delicious on pizza, depending on what specific kind of spices are in the sauce, and what kind of cheese is used. Blends with cheddar (which people tend to prefer the most with meat toppings) don't work as well with pineapple as a sweeter and softer mozzarella/asiago blend. I personally like the sweeter acidity in contrast to the cream of the cheese and the more tart acidity of the sauce, and the texture doesn't bother me, but it's still not my favorite, so I will usually order/make other things first. I won't turn a Hawaiian pizza down, though.

It's also worth noting that the pineapple ham (Hawaiian) pizza was initially (and may still be?) largely a west coast thing anyway, due to availability/less shipping for the fruit. Kind of like when I was talking to Zang about pears, and he had the motherfucking audacity to call them "shitty apples", and we came to the conclusion that it's because every pear that makes it to a grocery store in Alabama has been sitting in cold storage for 6 months and traveled across at least six states to get there. It probably seems an awful lot like a shitty apple at that point.

I assume it's sort of like several decades back when anchovies were a divisive, but not unusual topping on pizzas in the eastern part of the country, but they were the "wtf" ingredient to most west coast households.

Although I don't really understand when people actively dislike fruit. It is bodaciously evolved to be delicious so that you or some other animal that shits in the woods can go spread the seeds with fertilizer. If it were bitter, then maybe. But fresh, or decently canned pineapple never is, so...

My issue is generally texture and and the after-taste. There's a lot of foods I'd gladly eat if it didn't feel like I was consuming a non-food glob of not-quite-mud dirt, among other textures.

One example is rice. I cannot put the stuff in my mouth for the most part unless it was blended (heavily) into something else, and it's still a stretch even at that point. However, crispy rice, like in cereals and other snacks, I can eat that all day with no problem.

In other words, pineapple is metal af.

My only problem with pineapple is when you get it in mixed fruit/fruit salad, the acid starts eating away at other fruits in it and makes the other fruits all weird and tingly.

Man wtf you all talking about banana peppers are clearly the best thing on Pizza.
