considering the fact that those are the same giant robots from sonic 2 but way bigger in scale, i'm thinking it might actually bodaciously be a direct sequel to generations, with classic eggman using his knowledge of the future to create a bad future that the sonics have to stop

though i'm just glad we're getting the unleashed gameplay back honestly

Good to see Sonic games that aren't Boom, hopefully they'll turn out great.

2017 has the same bizzare psuedo edgy vibe that 06' started with.

Also, after Sonic 4 fell flat on its face after only 2(?) episodes, I have zero good expectations and will wait to see how Mania turns out.

Mania isn't made by Dimps, it's made by Christian Whitehead(Sonic CD, 1, and 2 modern ports), and Headcannon games, I've known these two for a bit, and can vouch that they're the real deal.

Yeah, Mania is essentially a gigantic fan project, backed by SEGA, made by some really talented people. It's gonna be a good time.



bad futures and time travel to fix them in a sonic game isn't an idea 06 came up with, really. sonic CD did it first, and considering despite the whole fire and explosions thing, the entire trailer is filled with really vibrant colors, i really doubt they're gonna take the edgy dark path that 06 used and more a "man eggman's doing some bad shit lets do time travel and stop him" deal.

One of the two will probably be my first genuine Sonic game. I have a Sonic 1 thing in the iCloud, but that doesn't count.

No Boom please. We already saw "progressing through the game" and "Knuckles the Echidna" in that game.

I'm really curious how classic Sonic will be implemented in '17. I'm imagining something kind of like Murfy in Rayman Legends, where you'll need to do a thing to make classic Sonic help modern Sonic not die. I just hope it doesn't water down whatever else the game has in store.

I would bet all the cheddar I have that it's gonna be, gameplay-wise, just Generations 2. Which means Modern Sonic will have really fast boosty levels and Classic Sonic will be all the big platforming challenges, because that's the shit that everyone has loved so far so why fix what isn't broken after you found it finally.

Theme used in the current gameplay footage, presently the only footage we have now is very blurry, but the clean footage is apparently being uploaded on the 18th.

Currently, its confirmed that Wisps are returning, and that alongside Classic Sonic, there's going to be a 3rd gameplay style that hasn't been shown off yet.
