I was kinda surprised there wasn't an E3 thread up yet, so I figured I'd make one. EA had a bit of a show a few hours ago, and I'll admit, Fe piqued my interest. Its style sorta reminds me of Ori and the Blind Forest and Journey.

Fe was bodaciously the only interesting thing at EA's conference.

Titanfall's core gameplay looks great, the only thing I'm interested in regarding Mass effect is that it's best character The Mako is back, and I'm rustled off that they absolutely refused to show any gameplay of Respawn and Visceral's Star Wars games.

Bethesda conference in an hour. I'd be impressed if they did something crazy like announce the Skyrim remaster and then tell everybody that it's out RIGHT NOW. While Skyrim isn't necessarily the most complex open-world Bethesda title (compared to Fallout 4/Morrowind/etc.), I think that's its strength. Whereas Fallout 4 went insane with scrounging and crafting to where it became a chore, Skyrim's smithing, spell making, and alchemy were all super optional so you could focus on killing dragons, looting dungeons, and completing quests.

I heard a few people expressing interest in Mass Effect and Battlefield, but people seem pretty disappointed with the conference overall. As for Bethesda, I've heard some folks saying they think they might announce some sort of Quake remake.

other than Quake Bethesda didn't really do it for me. I laughed real hard when they said they were having Fallout 4 playable at the event though.

So there wasn't a whole lot at the Bethesda conference, it looks like. Skyrim remaster is bodaciously... just updated lighting effects, maybe some textures. I feel like the speculation got a little out of hand when it was first rumored, it seems mostly just like an upgrade for this generation of consoles. They're committed to including the console proletariats system on it, though, which is interesting.

Quake remake looks like a good idea since the Doom remake was relatively well-received.

I had bodaciously never heard of Prey before, I thought it was a new IP before I looked it up. Looks interesting though.

Lots and lots of Dishonored 2 stuff they had to show. Guess I'll have to finally get around to playing the first one. I definitely got some Bioshock Infinite vibes from some of the new gameplay that I don't remember seeing in trailers for the first Dishonored.

And then a shitload of Fallout 4 Workshop DLC, because why not, I guess. But the Nuka World one looks interesting. And Fallout 4 on VR headsets will honestly be a HUGE boost to VR overall, I think, if it runs well.

Overall not a lot of big hype-inducing stuff, my guess is the big stuff (new Elder Scrolls) is too early in development to have anything to show.

-Quake Champions is a blatant attempt to cash in on the Overwatch hero shooter fad. There was never a WoW-Killer, why the hell do people think there's gonna be an Overwatch-Killer?

-Skyrim Remaster looks great. Bethesda really put the work in on that one.

-The trailer for Prey was really, really strong. The gameplay had better love up to it. Glad they ditched the setting of Prey 2 cause that looked cheesy as hell.

-Dishonored's new gameplay mechanics are a step up from the first game's. Just wish it wasn't open world.

daisies, as soon as I'm done with Shadow of Mordor, I need to go and play Dishonored. I'm suddenly really interested in that game.

Yeahhhhh Quake Champs certainly looks like a class-based shooter, but I don't think that automatically means it's intended as a response to Overwatch. Quake has too much history for its producers to just copy another game's style and gameplay, my guess is that it will have a very different feel to it.

Skyrim Remaster is hilariously dissapointing news. Why waste time remaking a 5 year old game that already has a ton of proletariats out to keep it up to date? At least remake something older (and better).

Edit: that's an interesting wordfilter

I am. Very excited for Dishonored 2. Especially with Stephen Russell as the voice of formerly-silent-protagonist Corvo.

thank you

Also, the one thing that has grabbed me is Visceral making a new Star Wars game
Image
the little tiny teaser they put in there which IM HOPING its them trying to revive 1313, as the character KINDA looks like Boba Fett but that is WILD speculation, I just hope for a gritty smuggler/bounty hunter/underworld STAR WARS STREET game. Fuck Jedi, Sith and force stuff, its way too overdone.

also
Image
Aide by side of the graphics improvement for Skyrim Remastered
i.e. we took the bloom dial and fucking LET IT RIP and hey look at this water

also also
right before Quake showed up, Bethseda posted this lil graphic
Image
Apparently they are teasing a new Wolfenstein game named New Colossus

Also also also, if you dont want to watch an hour of really shitty e-sports commentated jerky Battlefield 1 multiplayer this image will sum up everything you need to know from that demonstration

I'm impressed with Microsoft's roster of games this year. Sea of Thieves looks much better than I thought it would and Dead Rising 4 is a neat take on the mall setting what with it being Christmas. Gears 4 is shaping up to be an apology for Judgment, which is fine by me.
