Dude but dude Ludwig, and his two forms and his music and the lore and and and was amazing! Granted, it was a super hard boss, but I enjoyed the hell out of it. Lawrence on thr other had was p bad. I did appreciate the second phase of the fight though.

Also just the music in general was just outstanding. All the boss themes and the transitions between phases were masterfully done. The enemy designs also have to be praised. Soooo many new enemies, and each one had several different alternate move sets. Really impressive!

ludwig is presented amazingly

but his first form requires really defensive play and has a health pool of too fucking much health and it's just the worst-case scenario for bloodborne bosses

his second form is okay
maria and the orphan make up for it by being the best fights in the game bar fucking none

I just watched an hour and a half of Dark Souls 3 beta footage.

It looks like it fixes all my problems with DS2 level design (pointlessly throwing bottomless pits about in all but four locations, overly linear layout) and brings back kicking.
I'm gona kick so many shields.

Just need to wait until Apriiiiiiillllll.

You need to link with http instead of https for embedding to work, cause the forum is dumb.

I finally got around to playing the first Dark Souls (Prepare to Die Edition), and after testing out a number of character classes I eventually decided I liked the Cleric the most. I just beat the Tauros Demon because he jumped down after me after he knocked me off a cliff (lol) so when I eventually got back to the wall I fought him on he was dead and I just took back my now over 7000 souls and went to go spend them.

Speaking of the Tauros Demon, fuck him, the camera is so worthless in that fight because the environment is so narrow so you spend most of it looking at his hairy balls. Makes it impossible to see those cliffs. He's not even actually hard, I only have trouble dodging one of his attacks and the rest are easy, it's just the camera that's the problem.

Now I just need to back to where my previous Thief character was (Undead Pariah, died numerous times because I kept getting poisoned by the daisies rats) and kill that Knight up in the tower.

Taurus Demon was fun for me. I fought it at just the point where I had gotten used to the game's movement mechanics.

Didn't notice the archers the first time, so they got me killed.
Then I died while trying to think up how to tackle the boss from the archer spacenwhile doing the most abstract math possible to determine "it has a big club and didn't seem to abuse the potential range it had, so I should make use of the narrow space to toward the interior of the wall to WAIT BOSSES CAN JUMP--" and died.
Thinking isn't a free action.

Then I actually fought it.

Took me three hours to actually kill a black knight, though. A week to actually feel comfortable fighting them.
Axe knights can go jump down a well and rust.

Knights are easy once you figure out that their shield attack (Where they bash you with their shield, which doesn't do any (or minor) damage if blocked and only takes off stamina) is absolutely worthless and leads into their easiest attack to parry.

My problem is that they are slow and easy to predict on axe swings.

That kind'a thing just wrecks my life with no reasonable explanation.

Like if I were fighting a Bowser that only ever did Down B in Smash would get me knocked around due to impatience. Only difference is Dark Souls kills via raw damage.

Edit: I skip words while typing long sentences on Android.

Apperently, the guy in the tower doesn't want to do the attack I can actually parry, I guess I need to get him down into more open space

EDIT: Apperently he doesn't want to do it at all, so fuck it I'll come back later. In other news I beat the big mace asshole in the Undead Pariah and killed that big demon next to the blacksmith despite only doing like 26 damage to it, so feeling pretty pop flyin' right now.

I've been exploring around trying to find some way to progress that doesn't involve fighting the Capra Demon because it's the biggest load of bullshit and oh god why, but the only other way I can go is into the Valley of Drakes but those guys fucking destroy me so I have to fight the fucking Capra Demon.

who fucking thought anything about that fight was going to be fun and balanced.

... N- not me. Not at all! Didn't have... Nope! No fun!

I don't know how blind you want to clear the game (never looked at the wiki, myself), but if you don't mind advice: dodgeroll through the demon's attacks and make a break straight for the stairs behind it. Use the higher ground to your advantage and take out the dogs as they get up there and keep your eyes on that freakin' goat. That boss is the only one that has a repeatable drop attack point, so make the most of it. If you get caught on the ground, dodge roll through him into his right-hand side and ge behind him while he is attacking. I lucked out and beat him on my first encounter, so I really hope this helps, assuming you read it.

Also, I remember the drakes. Those things were annoying, yet fun.

Capra Demon is fine, run up stairs and kill dogs first.
Once the dogs are dead it's pretty standard faire.

The problem is I keep getting hit by the fucking dog on my way to the stairs and stunlocked into oblivion, I guess I just have to roll as soon as I get in the fucking room.
