Why is Ganondorf so ridiculously fun to play? Like even when I'm getting my booty kicked, Dorf is never not fun.

Landing a punch or kick with Ganondorf has such a big OOMPH to it, that the power is mind numbing.

Ganondorf has been my side main since I got the game. So satisfying when you land a down air or side b off the edge. And the fact that some people don't know that up tilt breaks shields is hilarious. Also, Ganondorf ditto matches have got to be the funnest match ups I've had in the game.

I kinda bought the game for Megaman; wild guess who my main is, lol

I picked up Dorf because he's a contrast to Megaman's play - buncha tiny hits and then SHORYUKEN...or bair or dair or dtilt or fsmash or leaf shield juke over the pit. Leaf Shield + Metal Blade Z-drop are best kill options. So humiliating.

Dorf, on the other hand, is just kinda...Dodge dodge dodge shield shield dodge shield dash attack nair/uair dtilt dair with more shielding, shorthopping, etc mixed in everywhere to ensure you don't go too far off stage. For the most part though, I think Samus is more my side main than Dorf is. I'm better with Dorf than I am with Sam [by which I mean I need to use Samus more b/c I keep making boneheaded mistakes that I just don't make with Dorf], but Samus feels like a union between projectile & fistfight gameplay, which is the kind of fusion I've come to enjoy.

And yeah, Dorf Dittos are best dittos. MegaMirrors are fun, but they take forever, b/c if you're at a similar skill level to whoever you're facing, you tend to think the same way an awful lot, and spam lemons in to each other, follow up with metal blade, then you probably both either use Crash Bomb or Leaf Shield to anticipate your opponent's Crash Bomb and cancel it with Leaf Shield. If you're not at similar skill levels, you either get utterly outplayed [if they're better] or spend most of the match anticipating attacks that just aren't coming and dodging when you don't need to until you adjust to the fact that your opponent is not good enough to give you a fight.

Most fun I've ever had in a MegaMirror involved spike rush climbing. Traded spikes multiple times in the match b/c we kept knocking each other on to Rush as he was falling; good stuff.

Samus mirrors, on the other hand, are either ridiculously fun because you have a goodnatured opponent, or...Well, if you don't have a goodnatured opponent, then it's just a chore with a lot of rolling and charge shot spam. Even when they drop the spam, Samus isn't the kind of character that's fun no matter what; if you've got a dick of an opponent, no matter who's using her, she becomes a chore.

So we finally get to see Corn and Bayonetta's full movesets in action.
We get these guys on February 3rd, but what is everyone's thoughts so far?

For me, looking at Bayonetta, she really seems like a bait and punish character, most of her moves seem to have some start up lag, but once the first hit comes, the rest just chain together.
Corn looks about the same as in the trailer. Very spacey and stuff, and still pretty fast and all that.

I think they both look kinda out of place due to how flashy their attacks look, but they both look really fun. I plan on maining Corn.

Bayonetta's combo potential sounds insane, but I'm not sure how the hitstun actually fairs. That said, Bullet Arts are welcome for racking up damage, and she's got, uh, wicked range, with her Wicked Weaves. I'd love to see some serious air game happening.
Corn has got some pretty standard sword slashes, which is interesting, next to their crazy dragon moves. Apparently they've got a stunning move (I don't remember seeing it in past videos), which I like, even though I'm terrible at using it with ZSS. Their FSmash is insane and I never want to fight Corn if it's too fast.

Would someone mind explaining tiers to me? I've always heard about them, but never really understood what they meant.

Somewhat surprised Cloud's so high up despite his bad recovery.

Basically they're a rough ranking of how strong the characters are in a competitive format (no items, neutral stages, 1 vs 1 in the case of Smash). For the Smash tier lists, the Smashboards forums consider the votes of prominent players and community members, who themselves base their votes on tournament results and personal opinions.

Tier list are highly susceptible to change, because you always find new things in a game. For instance, the first tier list and final tier list for SSBM are almost nothing alike. This is the first Smash 4 tier list they do, only a year after the game came out, so it's going to change pretty significantly in the coming years

There are several uses for tier lists, the most obvious one being as a snapshot of the current competitive metagame at the time of its release. "At this time, this is roughly what we thought of the game".

Tier list are also a base for discussion. "Why did we rank this character this low? Here are our reasons." "I disagree, here are my reasons." It's not always as polite as this of course, but it results in people wanting to prove what they say, which means people playing more, which means players getting better.

Another use is to get people to work "against" certain characters. Sheik is so dominant! Let's all find ways to shut her down, then. Being at the top of a tier list is like having a bounty on your head, because every player is gonna try to find a way to beat these characters with other, "weaker" characters.

It can also get people to work on "weaker" characters, to prove that they aren't as bad as everybody thinks. Everybody loves an underdog, and so seeing someone take a character that's believed to be weak and seeing them find new tricks, new tech, and beasting on everyone is going to be exciting.

Finally, some tournaments have "low-tier only" side-tournaments for fun, so these lists provide a good way to determine which characters can be used in these events.

I totally agree. The top 15 in that list makes sense but everything beyond that is kinda fucked. Old man Ganon is in my opinion at least one or two ranks higher.

Well, you also have to consider his high knockback and how fast his moves are. Almost all of his aerials autocancel if done properly, which means he has almost no landing lag. His limit system is also pretty strong. I'm not surprised, but I won't be surprised if he drops by a rank on the next tier list in a year or so!
