But, due to the difference between the size of the two men, the game does not manage to synchronize the High Five hands to hands (the big guy hit higher than the small one). So, that's the joke I get.
Actually many Fire Emblem games, including Blazing Sword, are 2D games and work with sprites, so... I can think of this problem with 3D models, but less in a RPG-style game.

It is actually a girl, Lyn, who appears in Super Smash Bros as an assist trophy.

We don't do High Five where I live, so I suppose there are High Five Prank, like dodging the other guy hands an saying "Too slow !".
Yes, there are this kind of jokes. I didn't notice, but I think it might be an other "layer" of the joke. Where do you live, if it is not tactless to ask ?

Everythings lead to this direction !
If you know a little bit the game, I think the joke is pretty clear. I'm not saying you are dumb or anything, you haven't play the game, you don't know the references... Myself for example, I misunderstood
this Cyanide & Happiness comic because I didn't know the "5 second rule", we don't really have that in France (but we have people that pick something on the floor and eat it too, and I think it's pretty gross, but we don't have this expression). So I though it was a joke on the tropes of zombie movie, like zombie have a rule to give 5 more second to a protagonist in order for him to miraculously save his life. This message was just to underline why the joke is clear for someone who played the game. ^^
Also, you should try a Fire Emblem game. It's a real hell for a completionist like me, that's why I decided not to play another FE after Sacred Stones, it is too frustrating. But otherwise, if you're not a completionist, they are great games.
Edit :

^ Me when I play Skyward Sword against Ghirahim.
