America is phasing out the corn syrup-based sweeteners, last I could tell from not seeing it on the ingredients of all of candies I had, lately.

Edit: Uh oh, being off topic at the top of a new page.

Umm. Uh.
I'm getting better at drawing people that look like people rather that weird blocky masses of lines. I'd post an imgur album but I lack a scanner or (at the very least) a decent camera.

What about those little candy fish?

Those are awful. Or at least all the ones I've had were rubbery and tasted stale.

You are better than bad candy.

Did you have the real deal, or some U.S knockoff? Because you guys have some crappy candy, I think its that corn syrup crap you put in everything. It might be the real deal though, I grew up with these things, so they might be an aquired taste

Depends if Swedish fish are imported or licensed (like Cadbury is made by Hershey's) or whatever. More than anything they taste old whenever I've gotten them, like a starburst that's been sitting around for a year. So if they're imported, it might be because it takes time to even reach us and by then it's not as fresh or good. It's not a very popular candy in America so I don't imagine stock turns over very often either. We also only get the red variety if that helps.

Actually looking it up it seems all of our Swedish Fish are made by a Cadbury subsidiary company in Canada. It even contains corn syrup. The only ingredient that is kinda different from our "typical" candy-making is the carnauba wax, but I enjoy nik-l-nips and similar candies which are made from and partially contains wax.

I'm chalking it up to them being old as hell, but I've never had one that I could describe as actually gummy.

I ate a swedish fish once expecting it to taste like a gummy bear and I was so disappointed that I've never looked a swedish fish in the eye again

If you're expecting them to have the same consistency as, say, gummy bears, they dont, their normal texture is a bit like wax lips.

I can confirm that they are. One hit me.

You have to think such a cursed tape would eventually be unusable as playing a VHS causes it to damage itself and deteriorates the video. Copying it wouldn't be a 1:1 process and would create an inferior copy of it. Eventually, it'd be absolutely horrible quality, and the curse wouldn't translate perfectly to each one because technology trumps magic.

It's why you never run into witches and stuff anymore. The advancements in technology made them all move on to easier entertainment options. No longer do you have to disembowel a lizard covered in pig's blood as webcams give a much cleaner view of people you are trying to contact across the country than a bubbling green ooze that you need to dispose of after a week. Don't want to have rotten magic sitting in the couldron for too long, after all.
Besides, guns are much faster than taking a hair off of someone's head and putting them under a death curse.

Practiced hair drawing. Two images showing off stuff.
The bottom one is me experimenting with full-ink shading after redrawing the second. I got lazy and didn't finish.
