It's not particularly horror, but Young Frankenstein is great.

Also, saw The Martian. It's pretty hard sci-fi, but very accessible as well. Everything is explained very simply and understandably, but it doesn't drop important details to do so. Good movie. Don't see it in 3D, there's a dust storm at the very beginning and all the particles and such gave me a headache in 3D.

So #BoycottStarWarsVII is a thing.
I'm Super Hyped after the new trailer.

Ehh, debatable. Feels more like one stupid comment that snowballed into trolling and fake outrage against the racism purportedly behind it.

Especially since we've known that there was a black character in this movie since the first trailer so many months ago and this is the first time it's blown up as a "movement".

Feels really false.

Everyone seemed to be tripping over themselves in their attempts to condemn it, like they just wanted to show their friends how righteous and upstanding they are. In a way, that was more depressing than had there actually been some organized racially-motivated boycott movement.

But back on topic, that trailer was impressive in how much of the movie they showed without delving into spoiler territory. I can't wait to see it. Those space battles better be good.

Movie fest was great, Watched Psycho (1960), The Conjuring, Halloween (1978), and The Shinning (1980). Halloween was not that good.

Saw a trailer that started out as "oh no this family's Christmas spirit is gone, guess it's time for a HO-HO-HORROR MOVIE AMIRITE" and couldn't help but roll my eyes, but then it turned out to be a horror movie based on the legend of the Krampus, so I figured it couldn't be all bad.

Hopefully it doesn't suck, movies that resurrect old stories that faded into obscurity always interest me, because I like to imagine that they get people to talk about the old stories they use just as much as they talk about the movie.

So Netflix gave me another free trial because I left Netflix ages ago.(I'm not much of a movie watcher.)
I looked around and watched Harlock, Space Pirate.
And I loved it.
It's apparently a Manga, I might read it to get more on the story.

It also reminded me of Star Ocean: The Last Hope. I should play that again.

Hey, does anyone know of any other similar movies with space pirates? Other than Treasure Planet. :p

I saw the Peanuts Movie today and oh my god it was so cute. If you like Peanuts, you'll enjoy this movie. Plus the ending and moral make it great for kids. I really like that kids get to see that people will like you more for your character and who you are, rather than what you do.

If I had to find a fault, the two Megan Trainor songs in there felt unnecessary. But that's about it. The story's not too complex, but come on. It's Peanuts. We don't need to reinvent the wheel here.

I like that a lot of people that watched it were like "ugh why does Charlie Brown suck SOOOOOO much"

And it's like

Have you had any contact with the Peanuts franchise before?

Charlie Brown is entirely a character destined to fail who still comes out on top in unexpected ways, a true loser who finds his place in the world not because he finds what he's good at and becomes awesome and better than he was before, but because through failing and being himself shows his true character and wins over the rest of the cast.

So yeah, he's going to fail a lot. And it's supposed to disappoint you when it happens. But it's okay because it's Charlie Brown.

I hope this movie does well and maybe we can get some decent sequels as well. I'd like to see what they do focusing on other characters and just doing general misadventures. Even so it's really well done and I enjoyed it.

Only thing I didn't like was that some of the red baron scenes kinda dragged on and felt like they were padding out the film. Also the models for things like trains and buildings in those scenes were a bit rougher which kinda gives it a distinct look but were still a bit jarring? Like Snoopy was still Peanuts style but now there's this shiny toy-booty train going through here and it looks like it was lifted from Little Einsteins or some budget kid's show.

Just saw Creed and it was outstanding. I've never even seen the Rocky movies and yet I never once felt lost or out of touch with any of the events. It had the perfect buildup to fights and had a great balance between Adonis's life in and out of the ring.
And the fights were sooo good. My heart was pounding as he stepped into the ring. Every time Adonis took a hit, everyone was flinching with him. I'm looking forward to the next few movies, should they come.

Don't worry, I'm sure he'll appear by the end of the trilogy.

As a Sith lord.

Recently saw Ridiculous 6 with some friends.

It was HILARIOUS, and Adam Sandler was REALLY GOOD IN IT. Reviews say it was pretty bad but I have no clue what movie they were watching.

I mean it was pretty racist, but it was hilarious and there were never any hateful intentions behind it. The humor was a mix of slapstick and good wittiness, though we were all tired from playing Fire Emblem on the gamecube for 6 hours straight because we couldn't be assed to find a memory card with space so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Anyone else seen it?
