Guys, please, I need some kind words right now.

I'm so scared of something going wrong while I try to begin my transition. I don't know if I can find a therapist and I don't know what will happen if I do.

It's 2 AM and I can't sleep because I'm completely stressed out.

You're going to do great, Katie. Choosing a therapist isn't a full commitment right off the bat. Talk with them, take notes, mull it over, and if you have concerns take it to them to discuss so they can help ease your nerves or, if you're getting really bad vibes, bail out and find another one. It might suck to have to do that but you'll at least know you're doing it for the right reason. Once you have someone you trust who you can connect with on such a difficult thing, you won't have to worry about transitioning. A good therapist is going to know how hard this is, that there will be good days and absolutely bad days and how to handle going on that trip with you without making you feel like you're being babysat or that they're just waiting for the check to clear.

You're a great person and you're going to make this work because it's important to you, because you're amazing like that. So try to get some sleep, you deserve to be well rested.

Even if I'm not knowledgeable on the subject enough to match Kamak during times of support, I think you'll do a great job transitioning. It might be a weird and unfamiliar experience, but hopefully thing'lls turn out alright! Good luck, Katie!
